4a/4b ladies, what moisturizer works best for you?

I recently reached a roadblock with my hair. I have accumulated almost 4.5 months of new growth with the help of 3.5 months of braids and I have to wear my hair in twist outs for a while before I do a touchup. My hair feels really dry and I need a moisturizer. Which moisturize(s) has worked for your hair? I want to stay away from the curl activator moisturizer because i fear that it will make my hair too soft. Do you have any suggestions for a good substitute?

*I think I need to make a quick stop at the bss store. Luckily Im not apart of the May 1st challenge

you know what? You're right. the best moisturizer I've had was achieved by mixing emergency 911 with grapeseed or castor oil. I haven't tried jojoba but I'll give it a try.

thanx.
btw, which part a yard yuh come from?

Try the Elasta QP Mango Butter. I use that in conjunction with the curl activator. I was scared of the activator too but my hair is soft but not too soft. It actually feels moisturized (took a week or so to get to that feeling). Good thing my challenge doesn't start until next week. I got a shopping list already.

I Loooooooooove Jojoba Oil!

It keeps my hair moist and shiny!

I also like Pantene Spray Light Detangler mixed with Hot Six Oil. for misting purposes.

Thirdly, Profectiv Healthy Ends for when I use heat. Shhhhh

don't tell nobody, but I haven't gotten any damage yet. I think it protects pretty well. Only use this after washing and conditioning 2-3x week.

I also say try the Mango Butter. I've also heard coconut oil is good as well, but I've never used it.

Before I started using activator I liked Sofn' Free n' Pretty Olive Oil Detangler. It detangled my hair and kept it soft and moist longer than most leave-in sprays.

I am so in love with S-curl diluted with distilled water followed by unrefined coconut oil. When I use this combo on damp hair my hair dries so smooth and it helps to staighten my new growth while keeping it ultra moist.

Currently, I'm getting beautiful results with:
S-Curl spritz followed by Hot 6 oil

prior to using the above, I recvd ok results with:
Motions leave in mixed with water & Hot 6 oil

Prior to that, I recvd very good results with:
Water spritz followed by Hot 6 oil

S-Curl No Drip all the way!

Now this works best for me when my hair is in a protective style, but nothing has kept me feeling moisturized longer.

Peachtree,
I'm starting to think that you may like hot 6 oil

.

Azjeepgirl, I'm contemplating the s-curl really hard. I started using it in November and loved it but it started to weaken my hair. I started using a diluted version but it doesn't produce the stellar results as the untouched formula.

For everyone that made suggestions, thank you. I appreciate it a lot. I ended up running out to the health food stood and purchased 1 large bottle of grapeseed oil, 1 small bottle of castor oil, and 1 small bottle of jojoba oil. Then I ducked over to walmart and picked up some emergencee 911 (Sally's didn't have it

- I thought it was a bss store ).

I will conjure up something tonight and (sounds evil, doesn't it) and let you ladies know how it turns out. For now, I'm going to get back to this 10page paper that I've been working on since God made Adam and Eve.

I will speak to you all later.

thanx again

sweetnic, are you looking fr a creamy moisturizer or a watery one?
Do you use wgo?? I found that to be good, also just plain olive oil seals in moisture like nothing else. Honestly i really dont moisturize my hair that much aside from washing it 2x's weekly. I prefer to oil it and let it be!
