Hey ladies I went to the salon today and wanted to post pictures. I am 4 years natural as of September 23rd :drunk: Just felt like going to the salon and get my hair did. Haven't been to a salon since January. When I went to the salon and they saw all my hair they were like :ohwell: I know the stylist and she used to do my hair 11 years ago when my hair was relaxed so I put up with it.

I got my hair shampooed THREE freakin TIMES :perplexed You know I was freaking out. I told the woman to please not remove too much of the conditioner when she rinsed it out. She was getting aggravated and I was like I don't care. Anyway once she put on my rollers I was fine.

My ends are a little BLAH so I will be cutting my hair once I hit hip length. I'm just trying to get to my goal of Dec 31. After that I'll cut maybe an inch or two. I like my V

My regime is very lazy. I won't even call it simple, I'm straight up lazy now :lol:

DC with Sheamoisture deep conditioner 1x a week
I try to do an Amla treatment every few months
My hair is usually in a ponytail
I rollerset and flatiron in the fall/winter
I leave it curly in a ponytail in the spring/summer
I should be doing alot more but I'm very busy

BostonMaria, are those the results in your siggy? Very nice!! Waist length and on to hip length... that's why they were hatin! And you did it on your own without them! Glad no one tried to get scissor happy.

It was partially my fault. I just put my hair in a ponytail without detangling it and it was pretty matted up. I had no plans on going to the salon. It was a spur of the moment decision, jumped in my car, drove over there. So when I took out the ponytail she was like good God :grin: And they're used to dealing with relaxed hair. My hair is long and pretty coarse. 3C or not I am persona non grata at salons :lachen:
 
Congrats on your progress! I've always admired your hair. How often do you rollerset & flat-iron? Roots only? TIA.
 
Gawjus! Just Gawjus! And great length retention for four years! Did you start of your natural journey bald headed or did you transition?

Thank you! I used to flatiron only the roots when my hair was NL thru MBL but lately I can't do that anymore. I flatiron a few inches past the roots. I don't know if its because its just longer or because of the dew point messing with my hair

I was on a mission to waist length so I didn't trim for the first 2 1/2 years after my BC. This year I've done dustings and search & destroys. I haven't had a real trim in a year and a half, but I'm definitely due. Starting January 2012 I will trim every 6 months to maintain my hair at pergatory (between WL & hip length) or hip length.

Ahahaha I was somewhat bald-headed. I transitioned for 10 months and had about 5 inches of hair to work with.

Wow Maria! I can't believe you're already almost to hip length! Congrats on your 4 years! Why did they shampoo your hair so much?? I think my hair would just go ahead and fall out if it was shampoo'd 3 times :lol:
