Welcome Lindy and Unlvgirl! :) Since you are experts at oiling, please share what you do. THANKS!

Nothing special, really!! I just use my regular moisturizer (such as Profectiv Breakfree) on the length of my hair (daily) and then put some oil in my palms and rub it over the length following the moisturizer... that's it!! :) I do this every night before I set my hair, and also add a little more (if needed) in the morning. :)

Great!! Welcome everyone!! We will begin the official challenge from Jan 23-Feb 23. If you have started prior that is ok! Just gauge your 30 days and post results here.!!

Thanks SherryLove for the advice on the Aloe Vera Gel. I will pick some up! I am telling you girls, I am seeing a difference already.
When I style my hair in the morning, my comb is no longer getting caught in my hair. It just glides right through! I love it! I hope this will lead to retaining length and reaching my goal faster! :)

I'm in! I already use Kemi-Oyl daily on my ends, and I put it on my scalp after I wash.

Write my name on the "oil roll"!!!! I'm currently using Cocoa Butter Oil on my scalp and a mixture of EVOO, Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil, coconut oil and a smidge of glycerin on my ends before wrapping at night. So far, so good!!!!:) I'm also going to try adding EVOO to my conditioners.

YEP! I use Pompien from the grocery store. The same EVOO u cook with ...

Do you guys mean actual olive oil like extra virgin olive oil or the green olive oil you buy in the beauty supply stores? Cuz I just bought a bottle of cooking olive oil for some pasta, but I will SURELY start this challenge if I can use it on my hair as well!!!!
I also like B&B extra light super grow.

How is everyone doing with their oil challenge?!!
Tonight I purchased rosemary and ylang ylang oil. I mixed this along with my jojoba and castor mix. I also added a little aloe vera gel. ( Thanks Sherrylove! :)

I hope to gain something from all of this!

Post your experience with the oil challenge so far!

Thanks Ladies,

As you can see I am determined to be at bra strap by August or before! :)

Well, I was doing well until I realized that the castor oil was breaking my face out. So I didn't oil my scalp last night, but I did oil the hair. I will purchase an applicator bottle tonight to put my coconut oil in and add some essential oils to that. Probably ylang ylang, sandalwood, patchouli, and tea tree or lavender.

My oil challenge is going well. :) I loaded up my hair with Surge Oil this morning... it was only 3 degrees outside, so I wanted to give my ends some extra protection!! :)

Bought some Keracare essential oil from a LHCF member (thanks Deborah! ) and I'm going to use it for hot oil treatments and to add to my conditioners!!

:woot: :woot: I'm in!!

I've been using oils for awhile now and I love the new ones that I've recently come across - amla, Dabur Vatika coconut oil w/henna & lemon. I've started mixing oils with almost all my products. I can't wait to get some more hair recipes from everyone. :antlers:

I use these every week in some form:
Amla
Coconut
Jojoba
Avocado

Not as much recently:
Olive
Castor
Cocoa Butter

I haven't gotten around to try yet
Sesame
Peanut (can this really be used on your hair?)

OK, I know you're saying here we go again!! Who would like to join me in a 30 day oil challenge. This would be using castor, jojoba or olive oil. If there is another oil you would like to use, please feel free and share what it is. We can come up with concotions etc.... lets have fun with the oils and give these dry hair, split end blues a rest!

I am going to be using Jojoba and castor! I will also add some of these to the conditioners I will be using as well! Maybe they can carry some of the good stuff to my hair shaft! Not a scientist and not sure if it will work, but can't hurt to try!!

OK! Are there anymore updates?!
I have gone back to Surging and I applied S-Curl, Jojoba, castor and rosemary oil to the mix! I will continue to oil my ends with the Jojoba, castor and ylang ylang mixture! :yay:

We have 4 weeks to go!

I trimmed about 3 inches off two months ago and it looks like it has almost grown back. My ends are healthy although they look bushy since I have not pressed my hair since November 26. So I think I will try to continue what I am doing until June or July and see what happens. Overall I'm happy.

I guess this came along at the right time, I've just mixed the following in the last of my WGO mixture: Karanja, Tamanu, Olive Oil, and Virgin Creme de Coco...I 'll see how this works...

Great UNLVGIRL! This is so inspiring coming from you!! :)

Welcome to the oil challenge, Oglorious1!

Let's see..

Well I use my hair butter everyday to smooth my hair...it's has all kinds of oils in it

I still have my ends in a baggie with my hair butter.

I'm in. I've got my castor oil and jojoba oil in a plastic botle with a skinny nozzle so I can apply directly to my scalp. Today was my first day. I'm Surging and doing the oil. I was so amamzed @ how nicely my hair airdried with this oil mixture. I'm hooked already. I plan to wash twice a week and Surge twice a day. :)

Also, I have some 100% AO aloe vera gel that I'll add to my oil mixture. Thanks for the tip Sherrylove :)

My cocoa butter oil and glycerin mixture is doing an excellent job. I've found that my hair and scalp really love the extra glycerin (humectant). Currently, I'm oiling my scalp w/my mix three times a week, but I may be able to cut back to just twice a week. So far.....so good!!:)

you are very welcome, armyqt...

I added the AO % aloe vera gel to my mixture yesterday and used it twice today. My hair is amazingly soft :D

Oh, I wanna join! I am currently using a mixture of WGO, castor, and Virgin Creme de Coco on my scalp daily. Also add oils (mostly EVOO) and honey to my conditioners.

Hey ladies!! :bouncegre
I'll be using EVOO tonight and probably Natural Oasis (blend of Sunflower, olive, wheat germ, fruit oils) tomorrow! :woot:

Welcome Gigi and ArmyQt!!

I swear I have little hairs sprouting around my edges now!! I use to have a widows peak when I was in high school and over time it disappeared! Can you believe it is sprouting hairs again!! I am so excited! I loved my widows peak and always wanted it to come back!! :yay:

OK Ladies!!

We have a week and a half before this challeng ends! :yay: I have been consistently using my oils and I love it! My hair is starting to have more volume and my ends are looking great! I havent seen a split in a while! :yay: Can you believe it?! Me, the hexagon queen with no splits! :)

Post your updates!!!
I will continue using the oils after the challenge as well!

Hope it has been a success for others as well!

Hi ladies! The oil challenge is going great for me! My hair is so soft and shiny(i wonder why haha). Im thinking about using shea butter. I just read that Queen Latifah uses it to press her natural hair. Im natural as well and I was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on what to buy and the benefits.

Thanks!
