I'm wanting to rollerset my hair sometime soon, but with my very frizzy, low porosity hair, and puffy roots syndrome, I need some recommendations on anti humidity products and heat protectants find products that work.

Most of the threads on this topic date back to 2008, I'm assuming that there are many newer products available now. So, what's the best anti frizz/humidity products heat protectant. I don't mind if it's one product or separate products that work well together. It could be a process/mix of using products from shampoo to finish.

Too much time goes into a rollerset to be looking jacked up within a couple of hours

It’s not a perfect process but I use a combination of things to help if I have something I really want my hair to behave for.

1. Firstly - the chi thermal conditioner. That will really help with frizz. I don’t like it as a main conditioner so I will use it after whatever conditioner I actually wanted to use.
2. Use my leave in mix as usual
3. Use chi keratin leave in and Kenra blow dry mist and blow dry with the rev air ( wetter hair leaves straight met results)
Seal with a coney oil if I’m just blow drying or proceed to flat ironing.

Chi silk infusion is a bit heavy for my fine hair so I’ve been experimenting using aerosol heat protection. But if you don’t have fine hair it may work well. I’m using a combination of Redken thermal heat protection and oribe heat protection

Have you tried this product? Did it work to de-puff your roots?

I have had this problem as well. One thing I've been trying lately is to apply foam/mousse very close to my roots, and then MASSAGE THE FOAM into my hair, like I'm using the foam/mousse to SHAMPOO my hair. Then I take one of those finger brushes and brush the foam/mousse all the way through from root to ends. That has helped a bunch.

I am yet to try this product as I don't think it's available over here yet, it looks pretty new from what I can tell when trying to find it.

That's virtually what this video says

Thank you for sharing, Ihave fine strands too. Last night I was looking into heat protectants and products to help with frizz. The CHI essentials kit and the Redken thermal heat protection both are on my list of things to try. I have made a note about the CHI conditioner :)

I will find a way to combat my frizz! I'm wondering if I will need to use a whole system for this. So far I have not had any luck with products alone, and I also think I've avoided smoothing lines as they tend to be protein based. I think I need to look at full lines that only contain mild proteins. Keratin is usually the protein ingredient used in smoothing lines, I'm pretty sure my hair is okay with this in small doses, I need to check my hair journal.

I am a big user of old school Nariobi and Lottabody setting lotions and have used them since the 90s. I particularly like the Nairobi texturizing lotion, Nairobi wrapped shine it foam, or the concentrated Lottabody setting lotion. The concentrated versions of the setting lotion allow me to style it as soft or firm as I want. I top the freshly set hair with one of those flexible-medium hold antihumidity hairsprays, and that combination works pretty well for a style to last. The It's a 10 Finishing Spray has been working pretty well. Many new products work well. I try those out but that old school Lottabody and Nairobi never disappoint on my hair.

I like moisture-rich shampoos and conditioners. The lengthy strand haircare line has become a staple...the entire line. A former member of the board makes this line and it is fantastic.
