Did a Fenugreek sprout water rinse this morning. Scratched my scalp and massaged in my Ayurvedic scalp oil mix. Applied my ABC Ayurvedic condish to my strands and sealed with my Ayurvedic hair oil mix.

I let my hair air dry for an hour or so and then wrapped it up under a men's satin skull cap and scarf.

Adding more EVOO to my herbal oil was a great decision! My hair is feeling much softer than it was after using my last batch of oil. Also, I think my hair has been missing EVOO.
Have you noticed any benefits for growth or scalp health?
I have an EVOO infusion that I have used a couple times on the scalp. I tend to gravitate towards the Jojoba infusion since it's suppose to be almost the same as sebum
I can't say which works better since I'm alternating between different types of infusions. When hair gets longer, I'll try to have data on different types of oils by using one type per month or bimonthly

I don't believe that it was the density of the oil that caused my issues. Scalp health has been consistently good for decades and I've always used EVOO in my scalp oil mixtures. I've seen no difference between EVOO and a lighter oil like , EVCO, Almond or Jojoba.

BUT, on my hair I started using Sweet Almond oil infusions bc it is a much lighter oil than EVOO and doesn't have a strong smell like EVOO. I usually end up mixing EVOO-based infusions with the Almond oil infusions anyway to make my herbal hair oil but in my last batch, I only used the Almond oil mixes to avoid the EVOO smell. I found that it made my hair feel scaly. As if that oil + ingredients combo were lifting the cuticles on my strands. So I had to adjust the way I used that batch of hair oil in my process - I layered over the oil instead of ending/sealing with the oil. I did LOC more often or even OLC and then sealed with my ceramide mix of EVOO + Safflower oil. That was the only way my hair would feel soft and smooth again.

It was weird bc Sweet Almond oil alone and even those same ingredients in other mixtures never made my hair feel like that. I believe what really happened is that I accidentally mixed in one of my scalp infusions into my herbal hair oil mix and just rolled with it and forgot I did it. Some ingredients do better on the scalp only for me (like clover or sulfur) but don't react well on my strands. I hope that makes sense!

Thank you for sharing! I hope I can get to this level of detail to know and how to make things work in my HCJ :)

Used dabur amla oil as a prepoo. I've been enjoying this amla oil so much, I decided to repurchase. Going to try the amla gold this time. Hoping the gold version is not as strong smelling as the original.

Edited to add: Just got my package. The amla gold is more pleasant smelling than the original, not as strong. Seems like a lighter weight oil too.

I love the smell of Amla gold! I bought two bottles last year!

I only add a drop of it to my hair oil mix for the smell only bc it's mineral oil based.

I prepoo’d with my oil mix yesterday and I have since had a headache and wondering if it was something in the oil.

I use the vatika coconut oil and Camille rose cocoa nibs (Alma oil base) which are both infused with Ayurvedic herbs. Anyone experience headaches? I left it overnight due to being tired and perhaps I just left it too long. I’ve since washed my hair and rinsed but that headache remains right in my scalp. Choosing to believe the headache is just hair growing more for now.

Oh no!
Did you baggy with it? And have you DC'd overnight before? Sometimes ladies have reported headaches after overnight baggying.

Also, do you know exactly which herbs are in the oils? Some of the herbs aren't good for you right now. :(

Mixed up a batch of Shikakai/Neem cleanser yesterday. My hair felt extra soft! Maybe it's bc the humidity in the air is rising, which my hair loves.

I also made the product about 3/4 tea this time (instead of 30-50%) with about a tsp of horsetail and nettle and then added in condish, oils and Castile soap. I think my hair likes that better.
