Greetings, lovely LHCF family!

This thread is a space for those of us intent on streamlining. Please feel free to document your plans and strategies for streamlining, product or tool assessment needs, final evaluations, decisions, conclusions, victories, etc.

Blessings!

I'm going to start out focusing on products and not tools. I'll start by trying to streamline my list of the TYPES of hair products I think I need.
  1. detangling agent
  2. cleanser
    1. cowash
    2. mud wash
    3. clarifier/chelator
  3. deep conditioner
    1. moisture-infusing DC/treatment
    2. protein-infusing DC/treatment
    3. moisture/protein -balancing DC
  4. leave-in conditioner
  5. curl definer
  6. moisturizer
  7. cuticle closer
  8. sealant
  9. styling agent
  10. refresher
I think that's as streamlined as I can get it. That's an improvement for me: 14 types of products.

Next step: I'll look at holy grails and staples to see which ones can do more than one job.

Let me try
1. Cleanser
2. Deep conditioner
A. Moisture
B. Protein
3. Leave in/heat protectant
4. Scalp treatment (growth aid)

Optional:
5. Keratin treatment

Most of my products are multipurpose, so that helps keep my stash under control. Example: I use certain conditioners as leave ins and leave ins double as detanglers.

I know I'm going to need to streamline this FURTHER for it to be a true streamlining, but I can start here and try to repeat a product as much as possible.
  1. detangling agent: NaturalleGrow Protein-free Marshmallow Root . . . DC
  2. cleanser
    1. cowash: (still looking)
    2. mud wash: Naturalicious is my best
    3. clarifier/chelator: ORS Creamy Aloe (currently looking for one without 'cones)
  3. deep conditioner
    1. moisture-infusing DC/treatment: SM Hipo Masque is my best
    2. protein-infusing DC/treatment: (still looking . . . likely Komaza)
    3. moisture/protein -balancing DC: (still looking)
  4. leave-in conditioner: will use r/o . . . DevaCurl Decadence One Condition
  5. curl definer: will use r/o . . . DevaCurl Decadence One Condition
  6. moisturizer: Oyin Hair Dew is best . . . could use DevaCurl Decadence One Condition
  7. cuticle closer: probably aloe vera juice
  8. sealant: jojoba oil
  9. styling agent: probably Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker
  10. refresher: could make my own water/oil mix . . . but currently APB refresher spray
That's 7 products SO FAR, plus oil and aloe vera juice.

Thanks, this is a good idea!

Thanks. Most waist-length and beyond sisters say their hair growth took off once they simplified and streamlined. I'm ready! I want 15 products are fewer. I'm getting sick of all this energy lost to product research, buying, trialing, assessing, reviewing, ranking, storing . . . retrialing and reassessing . . .

I'm ready for the beauty and effectiveness of a simple-as-possible personal hair care system. :yep:

I agree, I'm ready for simplicity, too.
