Welllllll, SOLDIERS since we are going into the 9th day of April and brownsugarflyygirl has not updated yet. I thought I would do the liberty and do the update thread (I'm sure she does'nt mind)....so how's it going...because I know some of us need a little motivation and inspiration to survive BOOTCAMP
:orders: :armyhat: :D

Me, myself I'm doing fine...baggying is what's happening for me. I still use no heat, co wash like crazy, deep conditioning and taking my vitamins faithfully errrnight:grin:

YOUR TURN:cool:

Glad to hear your doing well! Looks like good progress!!

Me, I'm hanging in there. Unfortunately I can't come here daily...its like waiting for water to boil for me...pure torture...LOL! So I'm going to visit a few times per month until I get to BSL.

I just added vitamins yesterday, please don't laugh...I'm so OVERWHELMED by what kind, what brand, how much etc. I just bought a One-A-Day, figured something was better than nothing until I can get it figured out! I started a basic workout routine last week; roller skating twice a week, treadmill twice a week and stretching, crunches daily. I hope to add belly dancing and protein drinks or Spirulin by the end of April. Oh and I'm adding Flax seed tomorrow.

As for my hair regimen I haven't changed products and probably wont til July. I'm not a PJ...yet...LOL!

Man, and I thought I was keeping it simple...LOL!

Well my corrective helped boost my confidence since I regained an inch. Even though my cut set me back 3 inches, I am still making progress. I have cut down on buying stuff and I finally have staples. I have grown out the last of the color damage from the past year and my ends look good. I normally have problems with the back of head. My hair always gets thinner in the middle of my nape area and it makes my whole head look funny. Well, I have grown that out and that might actually be an area that the cut helped. The absolute last of the damaged hair is gone. I am still deep conditioning twice a week and am only rollersetting my hair. One of the major things I have learned is that my hair was suffering from major protein overload. I was using too much protien so slowing down on protein treatments has really saved me. Using porosity control after washing has allowed my hair to absorb moisture better and helps cut back on manipulation damage. I am looking foward to staying consistent the rest of the year and regaining the length I lost.

I take one a day too...good choice. Once you get your vitamins ONPOINT you'll be fine. There's nothing wrong with taking your time because LAWD know there's so many vitamins to choose from...and in regards to changing products, as we say on here, if it aint broke don't fix it....stick with what's working for you.;)

One of these days I'm going to try to do my own rollerset and I'm going to look into that porosity control stuff you and everyone else rave about. I'm looking forward to staying consistent also this year. Now I'm going to fallback and wait for the other ladies to give their updates;)

Hi, ladies!!

I'm checking in, then it's back to lurkdom. Like Pixel Lady said, coming in here every day is just TORTURE!

I'm being a good little soldier. No heat... DC'ing like I should... protective styling like crazy! In fact, I just bought some new hair sticks and clips yesterday! Gotta keep it new, man. Gotta keep it new. :p

And I'm on week 11 of a 14-week stretch. The NG is no joke! The henna and S-Curl is keeping it balanced and manageable, but thanks to Boundless Tresses, the stuff is just THICK.

No complaints, though! I can't wait to see all the growth!

Everything is going great for me! I am also doing the CAG method so I am in braids for two more weeks. I was going straigten for graduation on June 1st but I decided to just get braids. I think I will be around SL then (an inch or two shorter) but the longer I go without heat the less I want to use it! I am going to follow Peachtree and other natural's method of straigtening once a year to see progress. I will probably do that in August when I start school

Im doing good Just got my retouch after my 12 week stretch and have made good progress....So at this point im just going to continue doing what Im doing ,and add baggying to my regimine since im on the 3 month baggy challenge,,,,Ive learned that I have to be consistant..its hard sometimes but its worth it :) Good luck ladies

Girl you read my mind! I was in here earlier today, and started to open the 90 - day thread, but decided I would give it one more day.

I'm being a good little soilder, and am having no problems with bootcamp. Wow, I can hardly believe that this first session is almost over. Time has really flown by. I've been deep conditioning, protective styling, and moisturizing my fanny off. In a few more weeks, I'll straighten my mane, and see what has happened.

Stay encouraged soilders; session one is almost over!

Hi Everyone!

I'm hanging in there. It's getting a little hard but I sticking with it...still not using heat (well I used my pass and hot curlled my hair twice to go to two special events). ..yes I served my punishment and I won;t do it again because I got my Caruso steam rollers. Still been DC'ing and protective styling like I'm supposed to.

My main problem has been keeping my hair properly moisturized!!! I'm working it out though.... I've seen good progress from my last relexer stretch but I need to get rid of about an inch of straggly ends.

I'm doing good too. I co-wash a lot, I have hennaed this weekend (sorry I don't have a camera, so I can't take pics :/ ) and so on.
But... I have used heat yesterday (bad me >.<), and that was the first time since I began this challenge. I've used my pass ^^
I'm 12 weeks post relaxer, and going to put some braids in my hair for 1 month. I've already 1.5 inches of NG, and aiming for another 1 inch.

^____^

I am doing great, 8 weeks post, I did have highlites added, so now I have stepped up the moisturizing, may have to go to CW's, still wearing a half wig as a protective style, :)

Things are going good so far. I'm still stretching my relaxers (6 weeks post/6 more to go)...don't know if I'm gonna last that long...thanx to BT :) . Still baggying everyday and the only time I used heat was for my update pic for the April Fool's HYH Challenge.

I am doing good. I have been a little lazy with my moisturizing and my growth aides. But I have been consistent with the protective styling. I am getting myself back on track. I am learning how to do kinky twists and I think that this will be my new protective style one I get the hang of it.

Tsmith are you the keeper of the challenges? Thanks for the reminder. I'm still hanging in there. I'm in braids for the rest of the month.

Well ladies--I kinda messed up... I was going strong but got my dates mixed up. I signed up for one session but I forgot the challenge officially started in Jan. I started "bootcamp" in November. So my *personal* challenge ended my March 31st...:look:  Anywho... Maybe I'll sign up for another session at the end of April.

We're all a team on LHCF so I did what I thought was the teamy thing to do:D Girl, I don't even track the days of the session, I just roll wit it and yep time has really flown by:perplexed

Glad to hear your hair is recovering from that beauty school nightmare, gymfreak!:)

I'm doing well in Bootcamp, no direct heat (I was tempted a couple of times, though) and my regimen has finally stabilized. I still switch out conditioners a lot, though, there are just so many that my hair seems to like. I've revisited co-washes, as well...they used to overmoisturize my hair, but I find that if I use the Aphogee Intensive Keratin Reconstructor (the "2-minute" Aphogee) for a couple of minutes after a cowash, my hair is just fine. I'm also using Porosity Control or ACV rinses at least once a week to keep my hair's pH and porosity in check.

My only gripe is that I'm having a little breakage on my ends. I've started baggying every night, so I hope that helps. I'm really starting to wonder, tough, if that breakage is just overprocessed hair that can't be rescued.:ohwell: I currently texlax, and my texlaxed roots are strong and healthy. However, my previously relaxed "bone straight" ends break off sometimes, even when I try to be as careful as possible.

I haven't been able to take pics lately, but I used my pass and straightened my nape. I am now almost APL (an inch to go) and it seems like my ends aren't as bad as I thought they would be. I need to dust, but not trim.

I knew SOMEONE was going to say something about that:lol: :D What are they feeding you young ladies cuz yall Gangsta? j/k ,j/k ( you know you're loved) Naw, seriously nope I'm not keeper of all challenges..LOL....I have my own Official APL challenge and then I help out Rabia's HYH challenges BUT this here challenge I kinda jumped in and updated because I really like this challenge and I don't want to see it fall off or forgotten because it's a good challenge that will really help us retain our length....I hope brownsugar doesn't mind...but I know she don't want her soldiers falling off:D

I am still going strong as well. I do have some breakage in my nape area. Before when I would have that breakage I thought it was do to heat. But being on this challenge, I am not using heat.

I finally figured out that it was do to the elastic bands I was using in my protective styles. Although I am probly going to lose a couple of inches due to this problem, I will now be able to correctify the problem.

Well my hair is doing well...still no heat, vits, daily co washing and just growing out my twa...

Still hanging in there. I did flat iron my hair last weekend for Easter, but went right back to my bun. Other than that, I either bun, twistout or rollerset. Since I have been working out, I need to begin CWing. I did have to trim 1/2 inch all around, but with this BT, it's already growing back:D . I can't believe how fast this first challenge went!

The porosity control is good stuff. The best part is that the little bottle taht will get you through 4-5 washes since you don't need much is like 3 bucks

I'm hanging in there, still daily cw'ing, daily moisturizing, twice a week dc, once a week poo, still baggying every night, using BT every other day, still taking my vits daily....just doin' the damn thang! :yep:

Keep up the good work ladies!

That's what I feel also, but I didn't want to be steppin' on no toes up in here.:D

gymfreak, it's good to see that things have turned around for you after that sneeky girl did the chop on you. Great recovery girl, keep up the good work!

preciousj, I like quite a few conditioners also. My hair just goes "yum". Are you using the Porosity poo, cond., or both? I don't use poo, and have been wondering if I could use the cond. only.

I am hangin in there, poo/dc twice a week and my protective style. Well moisturizing when i'm suppose to(@ night) is still an issue. So other than that i'm enjoying my one wk post hair extremely.

I'm doing okay, I've stuck with the protective styling, baggying 2-3 times a week (any more and my hair gets mushy) and moderate exercise once a week, I'm still having problems with vits, I have a strong gag reflex for pills and things that taste bad so I'm not completely there just yet.
