Let's say you lost all of your hair care products in a freak accident and you had a $20 limit to spend on hair products for the next 2 weeks. What are your MUST HAVES that you need so your hair isn't split, knotted, and dry at the end of the 2 weeks?

This should be fun and informative for any newbies looking for essential basics or anyone on a budget (like me).

Yogurt
Flax seeds
Grape seed oil
That is like 12 bucks.
With my left over I would buy a cocktail

Trader Joe's EVCO $5.99
Tresemme Naturals conditioner $4-$5
Aloe vera juice- small bottle $5
Eco styler gel $2-$3
Gallon of distilled water $1

That's super easy. apple cider vinegar (about $2), tresseme naturals(about $5), Africa best oil blend (all natural oils about $2,), v05 for cowashing (74cents to 1.00), cantu naturals curls activator moisturizing cream (about $7)

Thanks for this thread I actually see that we go overboard with buying various products when we already have our go to product's

Suave 3$
Grape seed oil 5$
Castile soap 5$
Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie 3$(I guess imma gave to get the sample size lol)

I got some change heey

Man, idk I've seen what can happen to my hair if I'm not consistent with products. I probably wouldn't wash my hair until I could get my usual staples.

Maybe just some Keracare or Mizani moisturizer.

I d buy a few packs of Marley hair with a bottle of braid spray and I would install my own protective style until I can get my staple products.

Con Argan oil- 5 bucks

Aussie Moist 3 min Miracle- DC/ rinse out - about 5 bucks

Coconut oil- Pre-poo/leave in oil- 5 bucks

Dax Pomade- 3 bucks

Done :)

Suave naturals conditioner $.079
Blue Magic grease $2.99 (Or a small, cheap bottle of EVOO)
Finger comb for free
Spray bottle for water $0.99
Recycled pantyhose hair ties for free

Came in way under budget.

1 gallon of distilled water 88cents
aloe vera juice $4.95
bottle of glycerin $5.99
Aussie Moist (small) $3.50
Grease/Vaseline $2
Cheapie shampoo with sulfates $2.00
Satin bonnet $1.50

grand total = $20.82 (I'll have to dig around in the couch cushions for 82cents!)

Blue Magic-$3
Shea moisture shampoo-$10
Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle-$4
Satin bonnet: $3

I can easily get away with using water as a leave in, as long as I heavy seal :)

EVCO(Prepoo/Sealant)-$5.99 Local Health Food Store
V05 Moisture Milks (Detangler/Leave In)-$.99
Giovanni 50:50 Balancing Conditioner (Cowash, DC)-$12.99

Damn! None of my hand-mades! Alright, if I have to be cheap I'd grab...

Cheapo V05 shampoo: $1.00 (would only use monthly)
Aussie Moist 3 minute miracle: DC/rinse out/detangle for like $4.00 or so.
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie for moisturizing, refreshing, and twists. (mid-range in price, but keeps my hair nice, soft, and shiny) $10.00
Hot 6 Oil to seal and prepoo: $3.00

Giovanni 50:50 shampoo - $5
Giovanni smooth as silk conditioner - $5 (or ORS replenishing conditioner - $7)
Giovanni Direct Leave in - $5
Trader joes grapeseed oil $3

Those are not my staples though but I can manage them...

I like Kenra clarifying shampoo, my homemade DC, KCurly Knot today and my castor oil mix instead... I can replace the leave in and oil with kimmay tube leave in.

Distilled Water (to moisturize) $0.75
Jessicurl Too Shea (cowash, leave in, DC, and moisturizer) $16.00
A Bottle of EVOO (prepoo/add to DC/seal) $3.00

Aloe vera juice $12/gallon
Hello hydration conditioner $4
Small bottle of evoo $2
And maybe some $2 elastic bands or clips

HE shampoo and conditioner- $8
Grease for sealing- $5
Comb- $2
BSS Bobby pins- $1

I'd wash, condition, seal, and wear my hair in two French braids.

Distilled water
Aloe vera juice
honey
greek yogurt
v05 cheapie condish
use the olive oil I use for cooking to seal

Hmm
Vo5 shampoo 1$
Aphogee 2 step 10$
Elasta QP 2$
Kids organic Shea leave in 3$
Shea butter

Suave Shampoo-$1.50
Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner -$12
Blue Magic (for sealing my ends)-$2.50
Satin cap--$2
Wide-tooth comb-$2

I have olive oil, coconut oil, and eggs in my kitchen that I'd snag to beef up the stuff that I bought for $20.

trader joes nourish spa conditioner $10.00 (co-wash and leave in)
ecostyler gel (tub) $5.00

use coconut and olive oil from the kitchen and recycle an old pair of stockings for or maybe buy a pair of shoelaces for $2.00

Id use the change to buy some chocolate or donuts because I would be stressed out !!!!
