To all of my fellow relaxed heads that wrap their hair for maintenance, I have a question. What's the longest amount of time that you have kept your hair wrapped and not combed it down? What were your reasons behind this and what were your results (if any)?

The longest was 2 days-I don't know the reason why, didn't feel like being bothered with it, I guess. My hair was soft, however my scalp was itchy, Im thinking from being tied up for awhile. It still have a bump to it too.

I was just thinking about it and I was going to try to keep my hair wrapped for an entire week, just to see what would happen. I was co-washing daily, but that it tiresome!

I have kept a wrap on for an entire weekend out of pure laziness or i wasn't going out. My hair actually felt like it was freshly washed and still smelled like shampoo. so good !

My longest was 2 days, and that's because it was the weekend and I was lazy. I don't think it's really necessary to leave your hair wrapped for a whole week. You can have it wrapped for one day and to me it'll still look the same except you'll have fiftyleven lines on your forehead from your scarf. I don't think it would be a good idea anyway because then you'll be forcing your edges to lay down a certain way and it'll probably hurt when you comb it down since you'll have to comb in the opposite direction.

I have kept my hair wrapped for about a day and a half. I usually do this during the day on the weekends. If Im going out with SO or to the club with my girls, I want hair to be fresh and have the salon swang. So I usually wrap under a mesh wrap and scarf and slap a cap on top of that. When I take my hair down later that evening, I hit it with a little oil sheen and go. The results are swanging hair with lots of body and the way it falls gives me texture around my face...I always wrap my hair in the same direction and have been doing so for years...

Same here. Go to the shop on Friday after work, leave wrapped until Sunday for church = extra lines on my forehead to be massaged out or partially hidden! I don't think I could go a whole week. My head would possibly feel numb!

I've kept my hair wrapped as long as a few days. My hair fell nicely, in a pretty shape and was just as nice as when I wrapped it.

The only problems I've experienced is trying to keep my hair wrapped while working out. It used to work for me when I was younger, probably wasn't paying attention to my scalp. Now, it doesn't work because of sweating.

ETA: I started trying cross-wrapping again. It never worked for me before, but now that my hair is longer it works well. I still pretty much stick to traditional wrapping, but cross-wrapping is nice while stretching.

I was just asking because I've been cowashing for about a week and a half and I've noticed less breakage and shedding. The only negative has been dry ends, so I was thinking about going back to my old reggie and just wrapping my hair nightly and washing once a week. But I just now rinsed my hair, (i'm addicted to my hair getting wet while i'm in the shower) and I put conditioner in my hair and I will see how it turns out in the morning. If my ends still look dry, I will probably revert back to wrapping.

BTW, I've tried moisturizing my ends and sealing, my ends still end up looking dry compared to the rest of my hair.
