Thanks 4 our nail *****!
Ok so in my sig is me a in nov 08 and feb 09. I wore wigs and braids as my protective style till new years. My hair has heat damage which I like, (crazy I know but the curls are looser and more managable). It has been growing faster now that I straighten it. :ohwell:
In the close up is the one gray hair I can't get to go away no matter what:wallbash:

Great progress!
You looked great bald, not everyone can rock it.
Be careful with the blow outs, that's a lot of heat.

Looks Great! You had a lot of growth. I always love looking at the pic of u with the shaved head...i always think DIVA!

I know its so strange my hair loves heat. LOVES IT. And it hates most products which stinks because I'm a PJ and I'm always so excited thinking "my hair is gonna luv this" but nope never. It likes silicon mix and conditioner and heat that's it. But just the blow dryer not the flat iron. Strange hair.

:congrats:

I shaved in Oct. 09 and I couldn't help wondering how much growth is possible in 1 year when you start with nothing. :ohwell:

Wow, you look great with a shaved head. I'm glad that I found this post because I have recently been considering just shaving my hair completely off and starting from "scratch".

I applaud you for such a bold move.

And you've made great progress thus far. Thanks for sharing!

Great progress! I know what you mean about your hair loving heat. Mine hates rollersets, but does great with the blowdryer. I also think your avi is beautiful! Congrats!

I was so convinced heat was awful and I was about to relax again because it seemed like my hair was healthier then. So I blow dried it one day thinking "well it can't be as bad as chemicals" and my hair cheered! I am so glad I tried it before the relaxer I would have wasted all my efforts and my hair was just missing the heat. Now its growing again and I think it is really absorbing the nutrients I give it.

nice hair. after seeing a bunch of 1 year pics all over this board i realize my hair is growing as it should.

Uh oh, I see that bun bun. girl Great progress. I'm wearing small box braids and be so glad when I can shed these extension for the real stuff. Patience is a virtue. btw, I did the bc in May, but relaxed after six months. It does feels nice and smooth. I found out my hair loves Nesbit Shea butter. The only oil is the Macadaman oil. I'll stay up with your progress. You look like a model in your signature pic. Great Look!

I agree! I see some women rocking the bald look and I think "that's hot!" Now, for the people with big coconut heads like myself...not so much :lachen:

You have got to update your fotki because I would love to see how much growth you have now.

@OP: I always loved your bald and bold look and this look suites you well too. Congrats being able to even pull it into a bun. That's a milestone in and of itself.

You made bald look glamorous!!! Did you enjoy being able to wash your head as much as you liked? And dandruff wouldn't stand a chance!

Congrats on your success and thanks for sharing!

Looking Good Rosie! Bald or Hurr! You Can Definitely Rock the Versatility!

It was freeing but also restrictive.
I loved the way my head felt, the hair was so soft growing in.
I shaved it really at the beginning of summer. November was when I stopped shaving it and let it grow so I had the best summer ever! I never worried about a thing but everyone starred at me, wanted to talk to me, ask me questions and I am a little shy and paranoid with the stranger danger so it had to go. Plus it was getting cold.
