Split ends were ruining my growth retention as well. I cut them off and bunning it up.

Happy hair growing!

:yay:

If I took my own advice, I'd be at BSL now so I know how hard this is to do: but now that you have healthy looking hair, if you can start protective styling, I can almost promise you that you will be at APL in no time and with thick hair like Supergirl's that doesn't taper into thickness. The other thing I will beg you to do is to dust your ends every 8 weeks. If you are protective styling, you will only have to part with this much __. Trust me: if you do this regularly and protective style--assuming your regimen is good and you aren't one that jumps on the PJ bandwagons just because and subjects your hair to experiments frequently--then you may never have to trim your hair.

Adrienne0914 shares a way to protective style in the album below. She grew her hair to waist length. You can surprise yourself too, if you take a tip from people like her and Wanakee. :yep:

Looks nice and healthy!!! Now you have a fresh start, and will have a much better chance of retaining your length this year! Good job!

Your cut looks great! I had to do the same thing almost a year ago, from SL to NL because I had major breakage in about the same area you did. I have come to the conclusion that my hair does not like roller sets. I quit relaxing in March and am transitioning with BKT, which has done wonders for the health of my hair. I air-dry and lightly blow-dry now, and baby those ends like crazy. I also do S&D trims pretty regularly.

Hey OP, i had to do the same thing about 2 weeks ago. My hair was APL last year but i made the mistake of listening to friends that told me i should wear my hair straight more often so in a nutshell, that led to alot of heat damage and split ends. Im now back to bunning and airdrying because that's how my hair grew out the first time to almost BSL.

Sidenote: can someone please send me a tutorial to help me post pics on a post? I want to show you guys my progress but i'm not sure how to post my pics from last year. Also, i may not be back on this thread so plz PM me this tutorial...thanks a lot ladies and HHG
