Why do natural (or mostly natural) hair products have a trend of being names after dairy foods?

Hair milks, butters, creams, puddings, custards etc.

Anyone know?:lachen::look:

Its true, I though it might be a marketing strategy. They better put a disclaimer on those if they haven't already, someone may eat it and sue...:lachen:

Why only some dairy foods?
When is CD going to bring out soft hair cheese? :lachen:

My guess is to make it sound more....organic and healthy which is what most naturals are looking for.

Wha about those who are relaxed? I noticed products made for relaxed hair tend to be more... "developed" if I can use that word. Its all about strength, preventing breakage, shine, conditioning, reconstructing...
Like relaxed-hair products are the hard driving career woman whereas the natural ones are the homely housewives.:look:
Know what I mean?

I guess so. funny how no one would ever think of putting some of these foods in their hair, well, except mayo.

About the butters, milks, custards..I always thought that the words described the texture of the products. I feel like most products marketed towards naturals have creamier textures and are heavier anyway, so the names butters, cremes, milks, custards...just are reflective of what's in the bottle. And also for marketing purposes.

LOL, all that strengthening, fortifying, conditioning, shining, blah blah blah is just because they know that relaxed hair is missing stuff and needs help.
I feel like that's what haircare as a relaxed person is all about...putting back everything that the relaxer took out. All the protein, moisture, elasticity...just everything. It's too bad that they lie and stuff the products full of mineral oil, petroleum, fragrance, and then half a drop of "ancient fortifying african (wtf is that) herbal medley" instead of any really good stuff. :rolleyes:

Well i think it just sounds moisturizing. Plus when a product is a milk, creme, butter, etc. you automatically know the consistency of the product and what to expect. obviously a milk would be liquid, a cream would be a thicker consistency, a butter... and so on.
