I have seen some people say they can only twist on dry natural hair. How and why do you do this? What products do you use in the process?

Because twists on dry hair have less shrinkage. Less shrinkage usually leads to less tangling. You typically airdry in plaits, band or blowdry and then twist. Some people use shea butter, ors lock and twist gel, aloe vera gel, conditioner, etc.
Okay so more length less volume. When you all had shorter hair did you do dry twists?

These are good tips. Do you find you have less breakage when you twist with dry hair? This last time I twisted on wet hair, there was hair that was shedding. I don't think it was truly breakage and I am very aware of normal hair shedding, so I don't know if it was because of too much manipulation or what.

Are y'all blowdrying your hair?
We wanna see pics when you do!
I just finished twisting my hair and my goodness! The difference is like night and day. I have movement, my hair hangs, shines like a star and much looks longer. I wonder what made me start to twist right after a wash anyway? Probably the time factor. I washed last night plaited in sections, loosed the sections and let air dry more this morning. Love you LHCF! Just love you!
I used a homemade concoction of Hairveda shikaiki coasta (sp?) oil, coconut oil, castor oil, avocado butter, shea butter, sweet almond oil, peppermint and cherry oil (for scent). I have a shine that you wont believe! BTW which one of these items do you think is responsible for the shine factor?
This is interesting. I've never twisted on dry hair until I did blowout twistouts about 5 months ago. I have shrinkage but my hair is long so I don't have a length issue. Do you guys wash your hair, detangle, dry and then twist? I'm curious.
