I used to use it, back in the day, but it made my ends crunchy. So I will rotate it, then it molded on me. So I stop using it.

Uh oh...I had no idea they changed their formula though...I wonder if the new formula is any better? I was just in Sally's the other day and passed it by LOL I am looking for something to start using for twists...

I am transitioning so I have both textures. I love it!!!!! I don't use gel at all when I use that. I am in the military so I bun most days and that holds my edges like none other!!! I did notice though that if it's hard (sat out uncovered too long) it's absolutely unusable. I got it in the mail once already hard and sent it back. It was probably sitting in a warehouse too long.

Yes! that happened to me too! keep that stuff tightly covered :yep:

I just wanted to add that I use this on my ends, which is nice, but I tried it for baggying this past week and it worked very well for that too.

I use this product and I love it. I use it as my daily moisturizer and I seal it with JBCO or Coconut oil. I am relaxed.

I love it! I use it on my edges on flat ironed hair. And I use it for braidouts on curly hair. It really tames my 4a sections and "silkens" my kinky 3c sections. Works great on baby hairs if you don't like to use gel.

I'm a natural and it's like manna from the heavens for me! One problem I've noticed recently is that the consistency has changed because they added olive oil to the mix. I like the original formula much better.

I am relaxed and stopped using it for awhile too, I started using it again mainly on my ends when bunning or wearing updo's. Also when I cornrow my daughters hair I apply it to the last 4 inches as I am braiding it and every other day to the length of her braids. I notice I use it more in the colder months and put it away in the summer.

I use it the same way as above including my daughter..also when I wear my hair down to keep my ends moisturized then I use a dab of oil as a sealant on my ends.

im relaxed and i love it i added a lil Glycerine and coconut oil, can you use this everyday it protein in it i get scared about to much protein

This happened to me. After trying out 1 jar, I bought about 6 jars ages ago and then used 1/2 a jar and did not like how drying it was. So I had them sitting in my cupboards for months. Then I did not feel like using gels recently and decided to re-try the Elasta QP butter. I mixed it with castor oil in my palm and it is not drying when I do this. I love it now.

I hated elasta qp mango butter. It left my hair feeling dry. When I'm natural, I'll try it again.

I love this stuff.

I use it almost daily.

It smells so nice and keeps my hair so soft.

I (like others) also noticed as well that it doesn't make my hair revert.

This is my favorite store bought hair product and I use it daily. However, they recently changed the formula...and I do not like the new version. The ingredients are the same, but I think they watered it down or something. Plus the smell is nearly gone-- that delicious mango/coconutty smell that I so loved. Maybe we should write the company or do something else about it- (suggestions please!). Anyone on board with me??!!

i like this elasta qp mango butter but it was listed somewhere as a protein product, does anyone find that using this every day is to much protein for their hair?
hydrolyzed silk its like the 8th or 9th ingredient

My hair doesn't like the new version. It's made my hair dry as I don't know what! I've been using mango butter for some years and I'm disappointed with this new version. I'm on the hunt for something better.

Elasta QP Mango Butter is ok. I would probably give it a 3 on a scale of 1-5. I only use it when I run out of coconut oil.

It was nice and silky when I first used it. I was really impressed, and the smell is "heavenly!" The following morning I was so shocked that my ends were so dry--bone dry. I said to myself: "What happened to my ends?!" I decided to pour some olive oil in it--which made it better--but I won't be replacing it. Also, it will "mold" if it sits for a while . . . so it's best to put it in the freezer if you don't use it often--like me.

I noticed the mold months after I bought it. Maybe it was on the store shelf too long. I love the smell, though. It left my ends dry the following morning.

I took the tiny spore of mold out, poured olive oil in it, and it's been stuck in the freezer for four years now. I guess I should start using it, but it won't be a keeper.

I just started using a 2 ounce sample this last night as a post-shampoo leave-in. So far I'm not impressed.

^^^ Still smells heavenly like mangoes :lick:

I love this for moisturising my ends at night before I go to bed. Its too thick as a moisturiser but perfect for hydrating the ends of your hair. I then seal with either Jojoba or sweet almond oil.... :cloud9:

ETA: for 3 GBP you can't go wrong. I am not sure if its has mineral oil tho? :scratchch

I am currently transitoning with twist outs and rod sets that looked good but were dry as :burning:. I saw this former staple in Sally's the other day and got it. I did a sample twist on dry hair and when I took it out it was like:clap::clap:. Will co-wash and give this a whirl tomorrow. If this works then this will def help me to transition and not go back to relaxers.
