What do you ladies think about pinning up short hair

I'm a rather laid back girl who cowashes her hair every couple days and pins it up in the back with bobby pins.I'm transitioning to natural with a NL bob. I'm low on funds at the moment, so I wont be able to get a sew in anytime soon and suck at rollersets. I want to avoid as many setbacks as possible. Do you ladies think that this style could damage my hair? I'd appreciate any opinions. I'm worried about my edges and nape especially.

The pics I've included are of my hair when it's natural, I wear this same style except with transitioning hair.

I would think it would be okay as long as you keep it moisturized and also, change the position of how you are pinning it. Don't always do the same pin-up. Change it up so your edges won't thin and so on...

But I "hair-zinged" my short hair. It grew past SL that way.

using goody claws, claw clips, or bobby pins could be a good change too.

My old college roomate did a style much the same. She washed every 3 days and pulled her hair back in a low bun...her hair snuck (sp?) up past apl b4 we all new it that year! He hair was about SL in th beginging too.

Girl, it ain't cute.

I would cowash, directing the hair back with the water, stick the hair zing where the bun would be and use Good days (no friction) hairpins to secure the rest.

Thanks for all those replies. Songbirdd I'm really worried about my edges too. I wear double headbands when i wear it back, I'm trying to find alternatives for these... maybe some new updo's, kinda difficult with transitioning hair...that or I'm not that creative :/

When I pinned my hair up with bobby pins, my hair broke off really badly, especially the area where the pin was at. My hair would be a lot longer now if it hadn't been for that, and it's just now finally back on the right track after about 8 months of nursing it back to health. Maybe if you switch up the position, you might not have the same results.

You can do braidouts, twist outs, bantu knots... how about wash n gos while scrunching the end to get a curly effect

I have some pictures in my album that show hairzings on medium length hair. You can do it with any length hair though. You could even fold a wad of track/loose hair and tuck it inside of yours with no pins or anything and then put the hair zing over it. Sorta like you would do a french roll but cover it with the hair zing instead. That will hold it in and make it appear fuller.

And the hairzings shouldn't do any damage as long as you're careful with how you take it out.
