Glycerin is not that good for straight styles because it attracts water to the hair and makes it frizz.

Much better for curly/coily styles

Glycerin is better for conditioning and not styling. My experience, you need something that coats the hair a little bit to keep the cuticles laying flat during the drying process. I use silicones (Chi silk infusion), and others use diluted Lotta body. Some even use oils like coconut oil. Whatever you choose, it's the same basic concept: a styling product that coats the cuticle especially at the ends so that the cuticle lays flat while drying, preventing FRIZZZZZ!!!

I really don't know. Glycerin is a humectant and it seems to me when the humidity in the atmosphere hit the hair it is going to turn into a hugw cotton ball. I don't know if the curls would hold. But try it and see and report back to us.

I too don't think it's a good idea. Glycerin draws moisture into itself so I don't see it giving you a good rollerset. I foresee frizzy hair instead and a big puff.

The hair will not hold the roller set style. you'll take them out and it will be lots of frizz

Once in a while, I'll use a mix of glycerin, aloe vera gel, jojoba oil, and water to prevent frizz when I damp bun on humid days. Seems to work, I don't know about roller sets though.
