I can't help it . . . I'm not sure if it's my equivalent to some who bites their nails or taps their foot constantly. But I love rubbing on my scalp where my new growth comes out. Maybe this is my body's way of saying, why don't you go natural? Maybe I just like to feel the rough texture of my hair similar to when I pick at the scab on scars. . .

I don't know. I have strange ways (which I prefer to call unique) so maybe this is one of them but if there are others like me, that would make me feel more normal. Anyway . . . thanks for letting me ramble.

I do the same thing. I'm wondering if this will/can do any damage to my hair though?

:lachen:I'm running my fingers through mine right now...i'm almost 7 weeks post relaxer. I'll miss it when i get my relaxer next week.

I'm 14 weeks post now, and I can't stay out of mine. I have significant spiraling going on.

This is my longest stretch and I'm realizing I was WAY off about my hair texture, even though it's still impossible to be completely accurate because my hair is still mostly relaxed. But I was WAY off. :lachen:

i don't have new growth as i am natural but i rub my roots and mess up my manicure all the time

why did i just have my hands in my haid too. ahhh i love my 5 month post hair. im transitioning btw
while im at it i massage my scalp too, gotta keep the blood flowin :giggle:

I love running my fingers over my new growth. I am considering going natural just to see my hair in its natural state.

I am the same way, constantly running my fingers over each hill and valley of new growth.( I think I'm 4a) and then giving it an "oh so gentle" tug so I can feel it spring back into place. Aahhhhhh. What a feeling.......Progress.

i'm pulling my coilies now! they're so much fun. i'm gonna go crazy when i'm natural! hands in my hair *all* day

i love to squeeze my coils too, and they gently bounce back in to place

Oh my goodness. You have never lied...I love running my fingers over my new growth. I have to pull my hair up to protect my NG from my fingers. And the waves feel so nice and smooth and hilly. I love it too! Patiently waiting until I'm completely natural.:peace:

yes indeed i looooove the feel of my natural hair its sooo bouncy and fluffy:grin: im 13 months yes months lol every month i extend it i was going to get it relaxed in jan but yeah.....i may just extend it again:lachen:

No, ma'am, you are most def not alone! I have HIH bad! It's been since April 2009 that I've had a relaxer, and I can't stop touching the ng. It's especially bad after I wash it and you can see and feel the little coils; they're just too cute!

HHG!

The week before Christmas I'll be 14 weeks post. I love feeling the ng and finding the coils. DH loves to rub my ng. When I apply EQP mango butter to my new growth, tying it down with a scarf, and feeling the aftermath....oh the hairgasm.

Guilty! I just touched up Saturday after 9 weeks. I couldn't keep my hands out of my kinky, coarse 4b roots LOL. Felt like a rug covering my scalp - and I loved it :-) Heading to Cancun for Thanksgiving week and since I'll be in WaterWorld, it was time to touch up. I've worn my natural hair before, and now that I know how to get slip with my natural texture (combing/picking was painful before!), who knows?...I may transition/BC some day :-)

I like the spongy feel of mine. I like to part a little section in the back with my fingers and sqeeze it between my fingers like a sponge.

Yup! Since I'm 6 months post and transitioning, I've been falling in love with my waves and curls! i can't wait until I have a whole head of natural hair! :yep:

I have always always picked and twisted at my nape, even before i had a relaxer. Now i'm transitioning i'm always in my new growth, people must think i have a problem, especially those who sit behind me in lectures.
