so in an effort to bring calm to this thread, I'm going to show pics of a dominican blow out to ameliorate the situation...somewhat.

she got some rollers put in her head:

she sat under a dryer and chichatted with the ladies there!

the rollers were removed and blowdried straight

Are you saying that Too Groovy uses too much heat too? I've never been there but I have been to Portia who was trained by Robin. I think the temperature that she uses might be higher than what I use (I am just learning) but I thought she was very good to my hair.

No, I wasn't saying that Too Groovy also uses too much heat. I was saying that I think my process of straightening hair AND Too Groovy's process is better, and uses less heat than the Dominicans' process

OMG...I came back to this thread and was like, "I don't remember it having that many pages before" ....

I really wanted to post pics before going outta town Friday but I didn't find my camera til I got back last night and it was pretty late so I will post pics when I get home.

FYI I will be getting off at 5:30 today and it takes about 20 minutes for me to get home from work. I estimate approximately 10 minutes to take pictures and upload them to my computer, so that gives a time estimate of about 6:00 pm today, November 16, 2009. ETA: That is 6:00 Eastern Standard Time

I did NOT forget about ya'll...I wouldn't/didn't mean to leave ya'll hangin!!

I figured I could snap a quick pic when I get home. Damn, now I am really feeling the pressure LMAO

The blowdry took 45-50 minutes? Is that the norm? I've never had a domincan blowout

Hopefully someone else will chime in with info about this.

Usually it's about 25-30 minutes for me to get my hair blown dry at Too Groovy. There were some interruptions in between her drying me, so maybe it woulda been a lil closer to 35-40 mins if not for the interruptions...

Well, I must have jinxed myself because I broke a new camera about a month ago and the camera I have here at home (the one I found last night) is an older one but I thought it worked fine.

Well, it's NOT. It won't hold a charge long enough for me to take a pic and it's NOT the batteries. Anyways, I am taking pics with my cell phone right now. Not the best pics but I will be back shortly...
