Hi All!

So after doing a bunch of research and looking at pics I've fallen in love with and bought the Bohyme Brazilian Wave weave. Only thing is I noticed a lot of ladies saying that they braid their hair in a circular pattern for curly weaves. In the past I've only worn straight weaves and the cornrows have always gone straight back. Is there a rule that curly weave looks better in a circular path? Will I get a similar result either way (with a circular pattern of a straight back one)? Also, I've heard some stylist boast that they do not braid hair in a circular pattern as if it's bad - is it? I'm confused. I'm getting the hair put in by a professional, but I want to get the best/ most realistic look possible with this (especially since I spent so much on it - almost $200 for 2 packs. The most I have EVER spent on hair). Is there another pattern I should try instead? I am planning on leaving the edges out so that I can pull it back if I need to. I might even leave the horse shoe out...not too sure about that part yet though. Please share your thoughts with me ladies! Thanks in advance!

I wear a curly weave and my hair is braided straight back...I can go 2.5 -3 months at a time with no problem! I personally like the straight back method because the hair lays flat even when it's starting to grow out. The circular pattern tends to start looking like conehead with new growth (at least for me it does)

Are you ladies also splitting your wefts? I've read that a bunch of people do this to this hair. What's the point? What does splitting the weft achieve? I know that the con to doing this is that it makes the hair shed even more than it's prone to (even after sealing the weft which I plan to do)- but what's the pro? Is it really worth going through the splitting process?

Also, are you washing/ wetting the hair before install or do you wait until after? Let me know ladies!

I've never spilt the weft & I wait until after the install to wet the hair.

Sometimes when people don't have enough hair, they split the wefts. HTH What are you going to use to seal the wefts?

I'm thinking of sealing with either the weft sealer from hairextensions101.com (not sure what the difference is between the regular one and the one that dries in black. Does that mean the regular one dries with a white film/ not clear and they created the black one to fix the problem?) or Aleene's Stop Fraying (made for garments, but I hear this is what many people use). Any suggestions on which one is better?

Also, I should wash or co-wash the hair before installing - correct?

As for sealing the weft, I'm thinking the process is: seal on one side, let it dry, flip over, seal on other side correct?

Final question, do I need a syringe? I've heard that some people use a syringe to get the sealant intot he actual weft. Does it matter if I do this versus just "painting" the sealant over the weft?

I need answers! LOL!

Thanks in advance!

I plan on washing it just so I can see how the hair behaves -- how big it gets, make sure it doesn't tangle, etc. I'm also gonna split/seal the wefts so that I only have to use one pack.

I currently have in Boh Braz... I have a circular braided pattern with the horse shoe and sides left out. this has to be my 6th or 7th install with curly hair and this pattern has never failed me. Here is a helpful video on how 2 blend a curly weave she uses a diff hair and I have done this w/ model model hair and boh braz and I must say it works wonderfully.

and here is a link to my album which is a personal testimony as too how realistic the braiding pattern / blending method make the install appear

Honestly, I dont know how big your head is but 2 packs may be too much... I have 1 pack in and my hair initially was larger than life! I have to step my curl defining game up for this one. I use Terri La Flesh tightly curly method and smooth the boh braz like she does her own hair

http://www.tightlycurly.com/technique/therules/

. I find it reduces volume, defines the curls, and cuts down on shedding... and best of all no brushing/ combing was need! which is really key because you dont want to pull hair out if you intend to use the hair for multiple installs.

Hope this post was usefull! enjoy the hair!

ETA: I didnt split or seal the wefts and I have lil to no shedding

ETA again: just looked at the OP date....im sure you figured all this out lol....well I hope this is usefull to someone else interest in this hair
