We ♥ Lacio Lacio, Salerm, and Silicon Mix, but what about OTHER Latin products?

I was just browsing Beauty of New York and they have a ton of yummy sounding Dominican conditioners and moisture creams. And the products on the "Latin" page are a bit less expensive than the more familiar brands. Has anyone tried any of the lesser-known Dominican/Latin products, and if so, what was your experience? The PJ in me is on the lookout for some yummy masks and creams :lick:

I really have my eye on the Honey Almond Conditioner, Crema Humectante and the Una Bomba Deep Treatment :yep:

hm i used to use sedal as a leave in, and some alter ego products. my hairdresser gave me some blue stuff and mixed it with silicon mix, but lordy i dont know the name of the blue stuff...yea this doesnt help bbuutt ok im gonna go lol bye!

I LOVE Lacio Lacio, and I'm looking to try Silicon Mix. I didn't like the Salerm 21 so much.

ETA: Sorry I have nothing to add, I didn't read the whole thread title.

I like Lacio, hate Salerm, and haven't seen anything else that I wanted to try.

I looked at the silicon mix, but it didn't seem like a deep conditioner to me so I didn't buy it.

I'd be interested to see which products everyone else likes.

I used to buy miss keys 10 en 1 in the 10lb tub. Man, that is a really great moisture/very light protein conditioner. Not much slip but very moisturizing IMO. I no longer use it 'cause its not available locally anymore, too expensive to order online. Shipping to Barbados is crazy and import tax is a b***.

ETA I like salerm 21 leave-in with silk protein too.

Crema negra was my #@it back in the day. I recently ran across it at my local bss but honestly, the best products form d.r. are the ones you listed. Most of the others have really corny ingredientes. Sorry to dissapoint.

*Lacio lacio is a miracle in a bottle, if this every became unavailable I would have problems.

BPT WHEAT GERM RINSE!!!
BPT WHEAT GERM RINSE!!!
BPT WHEAT GERM RINSE!!!
BPT WHEAT GERM RINSE!!!
:dinner: <---goodmorningruby & BPT Wheat Germ Rinse

my hair does not seem to enjoy the new reformulated version of lacio lacio, anybody have any suggestions for a replacement?

thanks for the responses ladies! I think I'm going to take the plunge and try some new stuff. I need to brush up on my spanish so I know what I'm putting on my head

I really like Lady Fior Aceite de Oliva conditioner (olive oil conditioner), Nacidit's Aceite de Oliva (Olive Oil Conditioner), La Plancha conditioner, and La Plancha Deep Heat Reconstructor Treatment. Sometimes I grab anything that has aloe vera or honey and cinnamon.

I usually grab the Miss Key Diez en Uno or Silicon Mix.

I would add 10 in 1 and that cinnamon oil thing...I know you can get cinnamon oil elsewhere, but all the dominican salons near me and hispanic ppl I know associate it with dominicans :)

I love silicon mix conditioner and lacio lacio. I really need to try more in the avanti silicon mix line. Several people have mentioned alter ego but I believe that is an Italian product; however I love Alter Ego Garlic and Nourishing conditioner for very dry hair (conditioner and leave in).

una bomba leave in is great for rollersets and a good detangler and dominican,

salerm, alter ego, kuz are high end spanish though not dominican.

I was a Dominican PJ before anything else, but the ones I loved and always returned to were:

BPT Wheat Germ DC and Rinse
Silicon Mix (loved to cowash with this, gret slip!)
Emergencia (still use)
D'Fina 11 en 1 DC and rinse (still use)
D'Fina Aguacate DC and rinse
Capilo Avocado and Carrot DC
Nacidit Aguacate DC and rinse
Silicon Mix leave in. I preferred this to Lacio2 for rollersets
Baba de Caracol leave in
Una Bomba dc (only in the summers)

I'll stop there... I usually couldn't go wrong with anything from D'fina

Baba de Caracol Intensive Treatment....I use it as a deep condition. It smells like heaven and leaves my hair super soft.
