maxiglide hair
I bought mine form QVC or HSN years ago. I works well on my hair.
well I thought that too, but that didnt work for meHmm, I was under the impression I could go from wet to straight instantly. I DO, in fact, have to air or blow dry first? Is it just a steam flat iron?
well I thought that too, but that didnt work for me
I'm natural with very thick curly hair that goes through major tangles/swelling at all points in straightening, thats why the pins killed it for me
I think it depends on your hair and how easy you can get it through with the pins......I think

it was really hard to work with for me
but I think too, when your really really used to one thing like I am, the pressing comb, everything else is like a contraption of sorts LOL
Your hair looks so beautiful-it clearly works for you![]()

... is that 1.5 no matter what kind of flat iron you use? It normally takes me 30 mins, but Im texlaxed.
Girl my pressing comb is like second nature to me now, I dont think I could get used to anything else now and oy I really hated the pinsI have thick curly hair too, I just detangle with my big comb 1st before ironing, but I can't can't work a pressing comb to save my life and it's just too many steps for me to DIY with the pressing comb I can only get it pressed at a salon and I don't go to those people anymore.
I had the original one, and I now have the new XP and mini (for edges)
It works great for me, I get the super straight, silky, shiny swinging look or thick lightly straightened bouncy look, you do have to let it air-dry (braids, banded), or use a hair-dyer on it. You don't have to necessarily blow dry or tug on the the hair to stretch it out, when it's almost dry 90% or all dry, just detangle before you use the pin plate, that's what it says in the instruction DVD. If you follow it the way it says you'll have no problems like not pushing the steam button until after your at least 3 inches from your scalp, and doing the quick steam pass on the length first. I've never had any damage with it. But if you have big thick hair get the big girl iron.
It's the best flat iron I've ever used, I don't like other flat irons cause I feel like their just frying my hair, and it takes forever to do my hair with them and it still doesn't do a good job it takes 3 hours with a flat iron and 1 hour with the maxiglide, I'm not counting drying time just how long it takes to actually iron it. I've even switched to caruso steam setter cause my hair loves steam heat not dry heat. Now the heat protectant/moisture block really makes it last, even in humid weather, but I never used to use MB's before and only super 100 degree humid weather or pouring down rain would make it revert. hth

but I do think its a case of some things work for some and not for others
I took it back the same day/them pins had me cryin LOL
Thank you Lucia lolSorry it didn't work for you, You're right what works for some ... but I burnt the front of my hair trying to work the pressing comb, I just couldn't do it. But you're siggy pic is fabulous, I'm drooling over here.![]()
Thank you Lucia lol
well also I press from wet to dry, so its all I know now
thats what I wanted out of the MG, So thats partly why it didnt work for me either girl
I just got 2 from HSN. I searched on line and found a coupon code so I got one of the MPs for $71...including shipping and handling. It came with all the extras, shampoo, condish, and 2 styling products, a mini, a brush and the CD. and 2 cases.
I havent used it yet, but my sister said it worked well and she is 10 weeks post. Make sure you detangle WELL, she didnt and lost a few hairs.
Where did you get the coupon code? Can you also use it if you want to pay monthly?
ITA. This is the best flatiron. I now use it without the pins, and it get's just as sleek, straight and bouncy as with the pins. I also find that when I don't use the steam, my hair looks different...the steam works wonderfully...I love it!I have thick curly hair too, I just detangle with my big comb 1st before ironing, but I can't can't work a pressing comb to save my life and it's just too many steps for me to DIY with the pressing comb I can only get it pressed at a salon and I don't go to those people anymore.

Your hair is fierce...loving the look and length of itI just used mine last night. It took me about 30 minutes to flatiron from an airdry status. I got my mine from HSN. They have it in a great package, and you can take a few months to pay it off. I am BSB, with BKT on my natural hair. The Maxiglide is my favorite iron because of the pins. I can get right at the scalp and edges, without burns. The pins are nly to enhance, not complete detangling. Use the same techniques when flatironing without pins as with...EXCEPT when using the Maxiglide, DO NOT squeeze the flatiron too hard. A light tough is all you need. Review the dvd that comes with, so that you use the tool properly. And always use heat proectant. HTH
