My daughter has the doll and they are teeny weeny braids. Almost like micro mini's but they are braided all the way down. When I saw that doll, I almost took her to the braiding shop with me so I could show them how I wanted my hair. They were so neat and uniformed.

i agree with the above posts, they look like tiny individual braids. i'm just glad to see disney creating a black woman of color as the princess in their film. that's pretty big when you think about it.
