I sent the Page to a Friend of Mine that can Never Get her Henna to Produce the "Red" She wants.
Perhaps, this might be her answer.
She's tried lemon juice, acv etc...and she is never pleased with Her Final Results.

Yesterday I hennaed my hair again this time I made my mix with only beer and a little acv. Here's what my hair looks like today
Wow! How pretty..Love the color.The first time I did this the color was ash brown/2nd time soft cooper..Next time I will mix it with Punjabi Prime..

I used a 12oz bottle of Goose Island Harvest Ale, because I wanted a more natural beer. Understand this, I hennaed monthly on a regularly basis. Then I wanted a more intense color so I used a clear luminizer(I got this idea from Poookie) I did it twice every other week. Then I hennaed last week with a Budweiser and then again Sunday with the more natural beer.
Wow!
Now what exactly does beer do for henna? Can it be used with indigo as well?
Note to self: Pick up some Budweiser after work. (DH is gonna think that I have lost my mind or want a sip!)
I have never used indigo and I did use Bud first.

The luminizer lifts your own hair 2 shades or so depending on the developer you use. The first time I used it I use 20 developer and the second time I use 30 developer. It has not messed up my hair because of the care I take with my hair. I dc 2x per week and I use Qhemets Biologics AOHC and OHHB for moisture. I moisturize my hair every two days and I use JBCO.
I did that overnight and yes I used the beer instead of water.
