This is a joke, right - $1,000 lace front wigs for everyday people

Exactly! Spend $1K if it looks hot but those wigs are "hair don'ts."

I had fusion an 18"weave for a while and it was $500 to install plus the price of the hair each time (can't reuse the hair) but it looked amazing. So many people assumed that it was my real hair so much so that I let one guy go on and on about how sisters don't let their hair grow like "mine" and I should be so proud of myself for growing such long hair.

That's a bunch a bull right there, and this coming from someone that loves to wear hair accesories, lol. Those wigs look crazy, very unnatural IMO. I am thinking of all the appliances and hair products I could buy for 1K.

Wait, wait, wait...she also said the wigs could cost up to $3500! She done lost her mind! For that amount of money that wig better help me pay my rent! :lachen:

The hairstylist is so adorable. I love her chubby cheeks. She wrong for selling that orange monstrosity for $1000 though...

S-C-A-M
Scam scam scam!
Gosh those ladies need to hop on the internet and get some information about what a good, quality weave looks like. I'm hoping that was a joke.

I wouldn't knock anyone for how they spend their money. I know that we are in a recession and even when we weren't I always tried to spend my money WISELY. If I'm going to spend more than $50 on something, I am going to do some RESEARCH. Is it a quality product? Can I get it somewhere else for LESS? Is it really worth it? $1,000 is a lot of money. I can put my 3 kids in extracurricular activities for almost the whole school year, I can pay a few car payments, take the family on vacation, give my momma, my daddy, and my grandma a few dollars and still have some left over. Heck, I financed my first e-commerce website for less money than that.

I guess it's all about how much money you have to burn and how you think. If I told my momma I spend $1,000 on hair she would ask me when the truck was coming. She would be smiling, batting her eyes and asking me how many wigs she can have out of my truckload.

Nope, its not a joke, as a matter of fact I dont doubt it for a second. Most Black women are walking around thinking their hair doesn't grow. So they'll pay an arm and a leg to get long flowing hair. I'm just mad they're all getting that ridiculous gold with no visible part making it MAD obvious....at least get somethin somewhat realistic:nono:

I'm really saddened by the lie we've been told about our hair and its potential:cry3:

But I wouldn't buy so much as hair grease from a stylist with hair that lady has:blush: that bad boy looks like a helmet:lachen:

I was waiting for this to get brought up. I nearly fell OUT of my chair in the movie theater when I saw this clip. Really people?? SIGH!!

Folks spend RIDICULOUS money on a NUMBER of things, but those "lace fronts" displayed for the purposes of this film, were HIDEOUS!!! At the end of the day, these women may or may not have made some FOUL decisions to obtain that "lace front", but whatever the case may be, it was a BAD decision. The "units" did not lay naturally, the hair was a hot pooffy mess of yaky/silky randomness, the color was unnatural; I mean too many things was going on here.

I have my own issues with the movie, but this segement was a very poor representation/demonstration/illustration. Where was the flip to all of the madness?? He asked the celebrities about their hair, but why did we not visit the shops they frequented? Or better YET, if everyday working women was the focus, he could have contacted PLENTY of women...some of the assistants for the celebrities, some of the consultants for the movie, heck!! some of his OWN family members. I DOUBT (hope) we'd catch them with a $1,000.00 "lace front" of the films caliber.

The sad part about it was how PROUD these women were; flashing pearly whites under wigs for hats. We have GOT to do better!! I beleive that's what disturbed me the most; with or without hair knowledge (extension or otherwise), I know lack of quality when I see it. And that was lack of quality ALL DAY LONG.

ETA:: I put lace front and units in quotes, because that was HARDLY what they were.

Wow thats ridiculous. I won't even spend more than $100 to buy hair/install. Forget about $1000 and the hair doesnt even look good. oh well their money they do what they want to do. But that was shocking

$1000 for that piece of crap:lachen:
i've seen better looking and more natural looking lace wigs for cheaper:perplexed
i saw this cute one for $129

those wome are nutts
if i'm paying $1000 you bet it will be the best
and i bet half of them are bald headed under those lace wigs because they probably don't even know your still suppose to look after your hair, even if it's covered up:nono:

I can't believe they're paying that much! I didn't see one person with a nice lace front. They looked a hot mess, especially the young grad student. My God, with $1000 I would go shopping at Afroveda, KBB, Darcy's Botanicals, Hairveda... and still have money and hair left over LOL

Wow, so the whole lace front segment was a hot mess, huh?

I wonder if he was told to keep the whereabout sof a decent lace front a secret similar to the Tyra lace front response on her model show, acting like they had no idea what it was when one of the contestants had on a lace front.:perplexed

$1000 is too much for me. I can use that torwards a down payment on something like a house etc. Maybe pay off some bills.:yep:

Judging by the look of that hair and the pics of the hairstyles on the wall near them, that salon is seriously overpriced.:perplexed
