That's a bunch a bull right there, and this coming from someone that loves to wear hair accesories, lol. Those wigs look crazy, very unnatural IMO. I am thinking of all the appliances and hair products I could buy for 1K.
I was waiting for this to get brought up. I nearly fell OUT of my chair in the movie theater when I saw this clip. Really people?? SIGH!!
Folks spend RIDICULOUS money on a NUMBER of things, but those "lace fronts" displayed for the purposes of this film, were HIDEOUS!!! At the end of the day, these women may or may not have made some FOUL decisions to obtain that "lace front", but whatever the case may be, it was a BAD decision. The "units" did not lay naturally, the hair was a hot pooffy mess of yaky/silky randomness, the color was unnatural; I mean too many things was going on here.
I have my own issues with the movie, but this segement was a very poor representation/demonstration/illustration. Where was the flip to all of the madness?? He asked the celebrities about their hair, but why did we not visit the shops they frequented? Or better YET, if everyday working women was the focus, he could have contacted PLENTY of women...some of the assistants for the celebrities, some of the consultants for the movie, heck!! some of his OWN family members. I DOUBT (hope) we'd catch them with a $1,000.00 "lace front" of the films caliber.
The sad part about it was how PROUD these women were; flashing pearly whites under wigs for hats. We have GOT to do better!! I beleive that's what disturbed me the most; with or without hair knowledge (extension or otherwise), I know lack of quality when I see it. And that was lack of quality ALL DAY LONG.
ETA:: I put lace front and units in quotes, because that was HARDLY what they were.
