Hello,

Is there a such thing as protein shampoo? If so, can anyone recommend any good ones?

Thanks,

Relentless

Yes...I use Paul Mitchell Super Strong, there is also Joico K-Pak Shampoo for Damaged Hair and Aphogee for Damaged Hair ...there are more out there but those come to mind

I think Aphogee for Damaged hair is a protein shampoo. And there's Millcreek Keratin Shampoo.

Oh and I'm sure the Joico Kpak line has a shampoo as well.

Aphogee shampoo for damaged hair is pretty good, i use it as my 1st lather poo then follow with a moisturizing poo.

Redken Extreme is a protein poo too.

Aubrey Organics has a protein shampoo. I like to use it after the AO GPB balancing conditioner. I apply the AO GPB on dry hair for about 30 minutes then shampoo and condition.

Don't quote me but I think Nexxus Botanoil may be a protein shampoo. Someone correct me if this is incorrect.

All I practically use are protein shampoos or what people here would consider protien shampoos. Joico kpak is excellent, I actually used that last night. The aveda damage remedy shampoo janeemat mentioned is good as well. Paul mitchell super strong is cool and the Lanza healing strength shampoo is another option.

i came in to recommend aphogee shampoo for damamged hair but it's already been recommended so i'll just ask another question. is it necessary to follow up with a moisturizing shampoo? because i usually just deep condition after

Hi ChocolateThai (luv ur name!!!)...No it is not necessary to follow up with a moisturizing shampoo and it wouldn't hurt if you did...I normally use a protein shampoo - moisturizing condish or moisturizing shampoo and protein condish...

I agree with Janeemat on the Aveda DR Shampoo. Profectiv makes a shampooo called MegaGrowth. I liked it because it was tingly on my scalp (in a good way) and did not strip my hair. I also HIGHLY suggest that you try Chemistry Daily Sulfate Free Shampoo. In addition to being paraben-free it also has Keratin Protein and Vitamin E.

I use protein shampoos almost exclusively (except when clarifying). Joico Kpak is excellent. For sulphate free I like Brocato Miracle 9 shampoo from Trade Secret for Ulta. My Trade Secret has the Brocato shampoo available in $2.00 sample sizes.

Also, the Brocato detangler (cone free) is the best.
