Normal Hairline/Edges vs. Damaged Hairline/Edges - How Can You Tell?

One way you can tell if someone has damaged edges is if they have no visible hairline...period. Another way is if it seems they've literally taken a pair of shears and chopped their edges.

About your edges... (in a good way) girl they are fine. Don't worry.

Your hairline looks fine to me. It doesn't look thin. My edges are thin at my temples and above (see avi). :ohwell:

As for your widow's peak, maybe you could get it threaded, if it really bothers you. That's if your ok with the continued maintenance of that.

ETA: my nape is just like yours. It doesn't grow straight across

Well, I figured maybe like, trying to stimulate the hairs to grow where they are spaced so it makes a straight line across? Instead of having the peak shaved/threaded to make it straight. Is that possible? I like where my peak ends because it doesn't make my forehead look too big, but I want the rest of the hairline to also meet up to it, make sense? It would make it look more full, IMO. I mean, if it's NOT possible, then I'll just live with what I got.

That makes sense. I'm thinking if your hairline is just normally like that and it's not damaged, that growing it across straight may not happen b/c that's what genetics has given you.

this is something i have always wondered. my mum used to braid my hair quite tight, my edges really suffered, and this was like 5 years ago.
my edges are really short and springy they wont be smoothed back with any technique.

sorry for the quality

I dunno, the hairs on my front are thiiiin. I want them to be thicker like some of the women I've seen. Like, more filled-in looking to where you can't see the scalp! I dunno, maybe the shape of my hairline is just naturally weird. It's like I got an "M" shape at my nape and a "W" shape at the front. I want it straightened out without the spaces. :ohwell:

Have you ever had a full hairline? If not, that may just be your hairline.

I think a damaged hairline is one of those things where if you had it, you'd know. There would be no doubt in your mind that your hairline was damaged.
