HELP!! I need a good detangler! HELP, I SAY!

But really, I am looking for a good detangler! I am 21 weeks post, and if I am going to have a shot at transitioning, I cannot be fighting with my hair like this to detangle the new growth. Any suggestions would help, ladies! I need something with a lot of slip that won't weigh down my hair but will help me not to lose hair when detangling it while wet.

I usually put a mixture of Vatika oil (or EVOO) and Biosilk smoothing conditioner (or HE-HH) on the night before I shampoo and leave it on throughout the night. Then I shampoo with a mild protein shampoo and detangle with either:

1) VO5 Moisture Milk conditioner (.99 or less!!!!)
2) Creme of Nature detangling conditioner
3) Herbal Essances Hello Hydration
4) Aussie Moist

I'd say that the best detanglers would be 1 and 4. They're super cheap, smell amazing, do the job, AND keep your hair super moisturized.

But pre-pooing the night before has made all the difference for me. Even if I only use an oil and a cheapie conditioner my hair is like BUTTER when I rinse the next day! You could also add a quickie steam/hooded dryer treatment after waking up/before shampooing. Your hair will come out super shiny!

Also, rinse with tea or coffee either before or after shampooing. It will keep your shedding and hair loss to a minimum. I usually put it 2-3 lipton tea bags in about 2-3 cups of boiling water and wait until it's luke warm. My shedding is almost non-existent when I remember to do this!

I recommend Kid's Organics Shea Butter Detangling Lotion. Works well even on dry hair. It can get sticky if you use too much, but it does detangle very well in my opinion.

I'm going through the same thing. I haven't had a relaxer since May 30th '09. I am going to try Sta Sof Fro Spray. I've heard it has wonderful slip and keep tangles at bay. I have been doing oil Pre poos with shea butter , Coconut oil and EVOO added. Also Jasmine's Bath and Body Shea Butter Cream Rinse has helped alot.

I tried Mane n' tail detangler this weekend and it didn't do much for me. I found a detangler at CVS years ago and I wish I could remember the name. When I used that stuff my hair fell apart, I guess thats what I'm looking for.

The best thing I have ever used to detangle is lustrasilk cholesterol. I like the Olive Oil or Shea Butter kinds.

Salerm 21 b5 leave in is really good for detangling by itself but if you use a few drops of serum over this detangling is a breeze.

Yes it is. It's excellent. I use the Olive one and I love it.

I like Herbal Essence Hydraliscious or Hello Hydration, Slather it on and you can finger comb or use the brush either way it works as a detangler/ co wash/ leave-in and its easily accessible
