Hey ladies,

So I'll need to start replenishing a few items in my stash and I wanted to try out some of the Dominican hair products which have been become quite popular here and on BHM. I'm wondering which are nice for 4B hair and how they are to be used.

Here's a page with a whole bunch of them :perplexed. Thanks

Hey!

I order from beautyofnewyork religiously and they are excellent! Last week I placed on order on Thursday and paid for regular ground shipping---it was at my door on Friday!

I'm a 4a, but my sister is a 4b and I use the same products on her hair. I really suggest trying silicon mix. It's great for leaving hair shiny and detangling. I'd start with that. Are you looking for any products in particular?

SILICON MIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I am screaming it in all caps.
My first order was for a small size jar, my 2nd order was for a 36oz jar, and my next order will be for a 60oz jar. The stuff is AWESOME.

BeautyofNewYork.com is great to deal with, super fast shipping. My next order will be from Sickbay.biz because the price+shipping for me is cheaper and they also have a good rep.

Here are the ones I like:

  1. BPT Wheat Germ Rinse (Germen de Trigo) (excellent slip. you can use it like a conditioner)
  2. Emergencia Conditioner (16oz) (rich and creamy. warm scent)
  3. Halka La Plancha Deep Heat Protector Leave-In (this brand smells like mangoes)
  4. La Plancha Deep Heat Reconstructor Treatment (16oz)
  5. Sheep Placenta Leave-In (Placenta de Ovejo) (it's purified, so this one doesn't cause cancer)
  6. Silicon Mix Shine Hair Polisher Spray (smells sweet and helps prevent humidity from ruining straight styles and frizzing curly styles)

Sickbay has lower prices, but if Beauty of NY has faster shipping, I would go with them.

http://www.roundbrushhair.com/ has ratings & reviews on many of the products, so I'd check them out, as well. I subscribe to their newsletter by email. It's also a nice site.

I love Emergencia, leaves my hair very soft and shiny. My aut said that it makes her hair grows a lot, I don't use it as much as her, so i don't really know. Her hair is a 4a/b relaxed.

Thanks ladies!!!! I'll review the list of items you gave and see how I can incorporate them into my regimen. Any more suggestions?

My favorites are:

Silicon Mix DC-- gives your hair tons of slip, makes it soft and you get deliciously fragrant hair
Emergencia DC-- makes your hair soft, strong and shiny
Lacio Lacio Leave-In-- detangles hair, is great for rollersetting or blowdrying/shiny hair =]

I have only tried two dominican products. One I did not care for at all, and the other one I love!! it is called Baba De Caracol treatment and I got it from roundhairbrush

Girl, I Absolutely Love German De Trigo (Wheat Germ Deep Conditioner).:cloud9:

I cannot begin to tell you how Wonderful this Particular Deep Conditioner is.

It's one of my Favs!

It works tremendously well and I will always have it in The Stash! Always.:love2:

Beauty of New York has Excellent Customer Service & Super Fast Shipping.:yep:

Also, Salerm 21 B5 Leave-In is also Good.

Baba De Caracol leave in!!!!!!!!! It is one of my favorite products (can be found in drugstores...well at least in NYC it can).

and Aciete 3 oil. Its a blend of almond, olive and castor oil.

I love using Lacio Lacio when I have a fairly new relaxer, after a few weeks I transition to Salerm 21 because its a much thicker leave in. Lacio Lacio is much lighter in consistency and perfect for not weighing down the hair.

I second Silicon Mix. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I even love the scent (although some have said it was too strong and overpowering).

Anything 10 and 1 or 12 and 1, didn't work for me.

I really like Miss Key's 10 en 1 conditioner. It's strongly scented, but I like the smell. If the smell is up your alley, the effects are all you hope for.
