Does anyone else feel like that?

I originally started and came to the boards as a fresh newly BC natural. I had my ups and downs ...mostly ups with my natural hair. But as I gained great knowledge  I decided hey I can take care of relaxed hair now that I know the Do's and Don'ts. :yep:

Things seemed great but I yearned for natural curly kinks so I BC this year. But its like now I feel like a newbie. I know I am relearning but its like I'm drawing blanks left and right. I still know my LHCF ABC's :yep: (co-wash, deep condition, KISS and etc) but I sometimes feel sooooo lost:wallbash:.

Please tell me I'm not alone. I'm trying not to relapse as prior product junkie but I think the bug bit me cuz now I'm wanting to try so many things out to find products and regiments again as this new natural hair seems so different.

Did I flunk LHCF Senior year? :look: What's goody!?

You didn't flunk. Let's just say you're going for a second degree. ;) I'm sure you'll find your way soon.

Going from natural to relaxed and vice versa can be hard. I never had unhealthy relaxed hair, but if I started back relaxing right now I really don't know what I would do to my hair. I would feel pretty much the same way you do.

I joined back in 2006 to look around and see what I could find. I lost interest and forgot all about the site. This summer I decided I wanted to grow my hair out and I stumbled back upon LHCF and figured if I was gonna be serious about this I should go ahead and pay for a subscription.

I feel like a complete idiot when I ask newbie questions and my profile says member since 2006. I even get the feeling that some members think that my newbie questions aren't serious and they just ignore my questions all together.

I understand. Mine says joined 2007 but I lurked for 2 years before signing on for the paid subscription. I know it will all get better. I just hate feeling like I don't have a clue. I'm trying to avoid costly setbacks at all lengths. :yep:

Yea I think that has definitely been one of the reasons I feel so lost being that i changed back and forth. But this time its for good ---I'm staying natural.

BTW - your hair is gorgeous

Don't feel bad. :hug2: Everybody's hair journey is different, and there are tons of things I don't know after being an active member here for years. It's possible that your questions were overlooked accidentally. Also, if you use the search engine you can find a wealth of information there.

Good luck to you on your hair journey. :)

Same happened to me as well. I joined the forum because i wa slooking for a natural way to relax my hair to strech a little bit between relaxers, after that i forgot about the forum untill now (a month ago) that i decided to go natural.

I don't feel stupid, i know i am :drunk: i never heard of such things as moisturize daily, DC, proteins treatments. Now my hair is doing well, and i thank this forum.

And as SEMO said before, is all because of the change OP, from natural to relaxed or relaxed to natural .. we have to learn again to deal with our hair.

Just from transitioning I learned that you cant apply the same techniques or even use the same products when u swtch from relaxed to natural. There's definitely a big learning process and maybe ur forced to be a bit of a product junkie until you can figure it all out. That's when you can start incoprorating the whole KISS idea in your regime...
