Okay guys, i'm so nervous this is my first time posting pictures. What do you guys think? I flat ironed like almost a week ago but I haven't had time to post them till tonight and sorry, the pics are kinda big. Lol. BTW, I BCed in january then in february, so I had less than an inch of hair. Now, my hair is like 4 1/2 to 5 inches. What do you guys think about my progress? And I know it's kinda frizzy, but I was tired. It was early. Lol.

What I did:

1) Self relaxed with SE Olive Oil Lye Relaxer. I skipped the protein step to see if there would be a difference in my hair. There was a difference. I won't skip this step ever again.
2) Then, I DCed with ORS replenishing Conditioner in a bottle. I love it!!! My hair felt so good.
3) I then towel dried my hair and put like a dime size Sally's generics CHI Silk Infusion.
4) I blowdried my hair.
5) Then, I sprayed Special Effects Heat Memory Flat Iron Spray.

And that's it. I'm double processed, btw. I have bleached (my bangs) and permanently dyed my hair a few times. My hair is healthy though. I deep condition a lot. Like three times a week and atleast one of those times are overnight. I use protein when I need it also. So, how did I do?:yep:

I think you did a good job! I am a little a confused though... you said you BC'd and then in your steps you said you relaxed. Are you natural or relaxed?

I BCed earlier this year in January, then I cut the remaning relaxer off in February. I didn't like being natural so I texturized my hair about two months later. Then I relaxed about a month later. Yeah, I know, that's alot of chemicals. I trying to go longer without a relaxer. But I don't think I lost any of my retention though. Right now, I'm stretching week by week. So far I have made it to 7 weeks...I'll get there.

It came out lovely! First & last time I self-relaxed, my hair fell out...I'm not sure what I did wrong, but oh well. You did a great job! :yep:

Thanks and I LOVE your hair Ivey! What's your regimen?

NP and thanks!

Well, recently I've been trying to alternate between dry and wet hair every month. I would co-wash every day for two weeks straight, shampoo (sulfate-free) on those two Saturday's. Then, I blow-dry/flat-iron it one day, ONE time. After that, I leave it alone for two weeks. No wash, only adding oils to my ends and massaging my scalp every other day. At the end of every day, I always sleep with a satin scarf at night and it has to be on dry hair. I don't sleep with wet hair.

I also use very little products. I mix HE hello hydration with africa's best carrot/tea tree therapy for my co-wash, detangle with a denman brush, and add Aphogee pro-vitamin leave-in. If I am going to straighten it, I include coconut milk/FX flat iron spray. That's about it. For me, it's about keeping it simple and low manipulation.

I figured it gives the hair a rest from being wet all the time, and being dry without water all the time. I try to find balance of some sort...

Sleeping with wet hair. That's where I mess up at. I'm always doing that but I always wear a silk scarf or sleep on a satin pillowcase. I need to let my hair airdry first but it takes forever...

Hmm...I'm not sure if it's a bad thing or not. I do it because I don't like getting my pillows damped. :look: And I've been wanting to get satin pillowcases for the longest time because sometimes I think I'm preventing my scalp from breathing and getting some oxygen when I have a scarf on!

You're doing a great job of growing your hair out. :yep:You also did a good job at flat ironing it. Looks nice!

I think your hair looks great. And I love your hair color. Thanks for sharing some pics with us. :)

Well everytime I sleep with wet hair, It's all jacked up in the morning. Lol. It's all stuck to my head. Lol.
