Well this may be good for some I think we also should take into account how people are built. While I am only 5.3 I have a very long upper body (mostly neck ) and a shorter lower body. It still make take me longer to get to BSB than someone the same height as me.

Agreed. Pants are a pain. Men are a pain. Standing pictures with men are a pain. lol My (short) friend was complaining about her pants being too long...wish I had that "problem."

I'm 5 ft 6 and it only took 9.5" for me to reach bsl. I think the length required is a function of how long your neck is and how your body is proportioned. For example, my neck and torso are relatively short by I have extremely long legs for someone my height.

I havent read this whole thread, but I think alot of it has to do with Torso length and so forth. Im 5'4 1/2'' (yes Im claimin that 1/2 in so what??!! )
For me BSL will be around 10-11''

Plus side to being short: Ill be PAST tailbone length at 24"

I'm tall, 5'10-5'11 but my height is in my legs. I think I have an average person's torso and a freakishly high waist. It is about 13' or 14' for bsl (about 12' for bsb) looking straight forward. It is about 18' for wsl for me. We are measuring from the nape right?

Why do I wanna know? Cuz' some people say that they're BSL with the nape of their hair only 10", and for some, they seem to need like 15" in their nape to be BSL. Me, I'm BSL, and my hair is 13" in the nape. I'm 5'1" also. How tall is everyone else here?(u don't have to necessarily be BSL to vote in the poll )

This really has to do with how long your torso is, some people top is longer than others and some people bottoms meaning their legs are longer than others and still are short people or tall people. You learn this when you sew for yourself or others.

I'm 5'3" and a half ( I proudly count that half) But I have a short torso so I measured and BSL will be about 10 1/2 or 11 inches for me from the nape. So this is a very good point that you brought up!

These terms we use... SL, APL, BSL, MBL, etc are all very realtive
