I thought you'd all appreciate this :)

In January, I realized that my nape and edges broke of terribly :( It was a big setback for me.

Here is my nape on 1/15/09:

Wow, that's crazy to look at :) It's just under 6 inches long. On top of it, I have trimmed it 3 times this year.

I will post comparison pictures of my edges when I remember to take pics of it stretched out.

I've been having very good growth all around this year.

Thank you lhcf :)

Nice growth Neith! What have you been doing to obtain this growth? I desparately need help in these areas.

Castor oil. Regular castor oil.

I kept my nape in little finger coils coated in conditioner and castor oil for a few months. I did that twice a day.

After it got long enough to braid and blend well, I just moisturize and seal that area 2x a day. I still moisturize and seal my edges in the morning and night.

I have also been more aware of my headband and gel usage. I haven't used gel for a while. If I do use gel, I make sure to put conditioner and oil under it.

Thank you, ladies! :)

Hooray for progress!:clapping: I need to do the bolded...I've become a fan of headbands now that I actually have a little puff, but I guess I need to lay off before I end up with the same, huh... :(

Yes... definitey be gentle with the headbands and puffs :yep:

It was really hard for me to go through that at the time!

WOW! that is amazing progress!
I started using castor oil recently for its thickening properties but after looking at your pics I'm hoping to get some growth out of it now too!

Wonderful progress congrats
now I am off to buy a case of caster oil,
your story is the final straw, i need a case of that stuff now!.

Fantastic progress- I started a thread a while back looking for some inspirational Nape successes and yours is really one. Congrats. Castor oil is really a master oil.

All I can say is WOW WHEE!!! I don't post much, but your progress is awesome!:lick: Thanks for sharing -- no one would have ever imagined you had a setback.

Great amount of growth. I have been doing the same thing to my edges and nape, but with shea butter. For some reason, I thought gelling them and brushing them daily wasn't going to do anything. Not sure, what happened to my nape. Hopefully, I'll see the same amount of progress.

Good post and regimen. I've just started thinking of what to do as the weather cools with {possibly wigs again} hat/scarf season about to start. Castor oil and conditioner sounds good to avoid the abrasion.
