Some pics of my flatiron w/QHEMET...

Hi ladies... today was one of the worst hairdays in a long time...

This morning, I was on my usual; shower, cowash, style, and go... this weekend I received my "goodies" from Qhemet, so I was excited to use it... I cowashed... then I went to work with my goodies:spinning: slathered some detangling ghee, followed by some of that burdock root cream, and finished off with the honey balm (and its really like honey:yep:)... trying to detangle my hair was :nono:, so I tried applying more ghee, and combing thru... in the end, it wasn't a good look... simple ponytail with hair rolled and tucked (which I call a ponybun). Anyway, my hair felt soft... but I was not confident about the detangling.

Fast forward to after work... and of course I log on here, like second nature:rolleyes:

I posted questions about Qhemet and the best practices for using it, since today was :wallbash: Meanwhile, I got to thinking that maybe I just need to flatiron my hair and straighten it out, after the brutality it suffered with this morning's detangling session... (see, I don't typically detangle, I just pile my hair on my head and go... so easy... so easy:yep: and near fail proof-- less the curls are being moody and don't wanna act right... then its :wallbash::ohwell::nono::wallbash:)
Anyway, part of my question was if I could flatiron with the product on my hair... I waited, but my curiousity got the best of me... and off I went to flatiron my still damp, partially detangled, qhemet wearing hair.

Well... my, my, my... not bad if I may say so myself... now, I still do not have a definitive answer about flatironing with Qhemet in the hair, but for me... it worked:yep:

Although, its been so hot lately... my curls that I "had" had fallen significantly, while trying to get photos... I have since tried doing bantu knots for tomorrow...

If you have any feedback, especially on the usage of Qhemet, please do share :yep:

Thank you ladies!

Your hair looks great. Are you completely natural?
I brought QB and I still haven't figured out the best way to use it. I hope someone chimes in soon because I am really not seeing anything great about it and it makes my hair hard.
I am thinking it is my application rather than the product. I hope so anyway.

I’m unsure about flatironing your hair with Qhemet products too but just wanted to say your hair looks beautiful.

Im not familiar with Qhemet products either...If you didnt smell any burning then your probably ok....Usually flat ironing with products just makes your hair heavy ,,,

hi nikki! thank you! I am not 100% natural... The dark hair is my natural hair... I haven't dyed over it, so that I can use the "old" color as my marker for transitioned hair versus natural....

In the morning, my hair wasn't hard, but it definitely had a different feel to it, that I wasn't really feeling so much... and it wasn't easily detangled (wet anyway). I don't know if its intended for usage with heat, but I like it that way, so far...

Yes you are right, it is heavier, but... it feels really nice and moisturized :) and it has nice shine...

I don't know about Qhemet either but I'm all for flat ironing damp hair. Looks good.
