It's been awhile since i have updated/posted, but i just had to vent!! So, I went to a Dominican Salon (mistake one!!) last Friday. I havent been to a salon in awhile and i didnt want to go through the hassel of making an appt etc.. I get there and they start speaking in spanish clearly talking about my hair. I am GREY!! I am 36 and have been graying since high school. 2 years ago i decided to embrace it. Of course they ask me if i want it cut and dyed....My reply was NO thanks. I sit down under the dryer an look up.... only to see this huge advertisement that says "from grey to gorgous"!!!:ohwell: So....what the heck does that make me????

Needless to say, my hair was a wreck when i left.... Frizzy and wirey!!! I need a stylist who can style grey hair in the ATL. Preferably one who is younger than my great grandmother!!!

Simply beautiful.....and here I am sweating these few strands along my hairline, lol.....and I'm 37!

I bet you get all kind of crazy comments about your grey.

I love your hair!

I'm not sure if you'll take this as a compliment, but I think it looks like you've done the grey intentionally (I know it's natural), looks kind of funky :)

Your hair looks great--the grey in your hair uniform, it looks very neat and whenever my hair decides to grey, I hope it greys in a uniform way (if that makes sense). This lady here is my "Grey Idol", I'd love my hair to grey like hers, she looks fierce!!

you are to cute. you have such a baby face and then the gray is so bam in ya face. i love it. hope u find a salon that get how fierce you are.

wow... you're hair is so cool... i've never seen such a young face with a head full of gray hair

Your hair is gorgeous! My hair is half silver and I love it. I get so many compliments and it is healthier than before. Continue to embrace what God gave you

I think silver/ Black & Silver/White hair is sooooo beautiful.
I even started this thread about it.
The thread is aimed toward older women because usually it's impossible to convince younger women to embrace it.

I commend you for embracing your gorgeous greys. You wear it well.
I also have 5 friends whostarted greying while we were in high school. 3 men and 2 women. All are 32 or 33 now with a nice salt-n-pepper mix.

And 4 of them embrace it.

Also, Don't forget about braids. I do my mother-in law's all the time. Pic below. Silver/Grey braids are seriously beautiful.

Your hair is awesome! How about that sign should read "Grey AND Gorgeous"!

I'll be 32 this December, and I just noticed, today, my frist white temple hair! I'm ecstatic because I'm hoping I go grey in the front first. I've been praying for it. :yep:Ladies like you encourage me to just be who I am naturally. I love the grey on you!

I am jealous!

I started getting grey hair in junior high, but only strands here and there. When my hair reaches my collarbone I want to get it dyed with grey up front.

I LOVE grey hair and cannot wait to go salt and pepper like the other people in my family.

I think your hair looks great. Do not colour it!

I think you have a beautiful color. My mom would kill for it, lol. She's still got the brown and grey thing going on and she hates it. Wishes it would just go all grey already. Anyways, don't even sweat that ad.

Mohair, don't sweat it is right..that sign is just an old put into the public consciousness advertising gimmick started by Clairol years ago. Surprisingly the one who caused the jump from 7% of women coloring silver hair to 50% doing coloring in the mid 1950's was a female copywriter with her.."Does she or doesn't she" ad campaign nonsense. Silver hair was {still is for me} considered normal and beautifully accepted until then. Your hair is a beautiful, gorgeous, silver treasure..I love it!!

I love your hair! My grays are starting to come in too. Don't believe the hype, if you're comfortable with your gray hair, then that's all that matters.

Hey, do YOU! It's beautiful and healthy. This whole site has been such an encouragement for the 30+ folks...to do them and not worry about what is considered acceptable. The most important is that we accept ourselves. You're and encouragement. :yep:
