HELP!!! Just took my braids out and my hair is practically straight!!!

Ladies I need to know if anyone has experienced this.

I took my braids out tonight after having them for three weeks and now my natural curls are almost straight erplexed. Can anyone tell me what to do about this??? I have no clue as to why this would happen. I don't have color or any type of relaxer in it. I'm completely natural. Three weeks ago I had a head full of curls and now nothing...

Not a stupid question at all, I was about to ask the exact same thing. Hair usually looks straight-ish like it's been blow dried after braids are taken out.

Try a mild protein treatment like Motions CPR. That always helps to restore my curls.

I'm a ditz sometime, so I like to just get that out there, , but, um, yeah, you washed it already? That is a problem.

I've never heard of this happening. I don't know if this could happen, but maybe the added, constant weight really stretched your curls out over time, especially since you're a type 3.

I would try washing a few more times.

Thanks everyone for your help. The crisis over! I did the protein treatment under a plastic cap for 10 minutes under the dryer as advised by brucebettye and viola curls are back!!!
