My hair is gone and guess what? I feel totally emancipated. I came home and told my DH that I just wanted to be free and he shaved it off. Now it is still relaxed (I am about 1 week post) but we'll see.
Now I am going to go shopping for CLOTHES which I have totally neglected since I've been concentrating so much on my hair.
...and no I have not tasted thou tender elixir Platinum!
.
Pic in siggy. Sorry for the wild-eyed look

you better work! I love it! But I have a soft spot for super short hair on women
I've been itching to cut mine again.

I think for many women, a lot of how they perceive themselves is tied up in their hair. So when they get the courage to cut, the sense of freedom comes with it. It can be a relief to shatter your own restrictive perceptions. In some cases, the sense of freedom may also have to do with finally cutting off hair that has been bothersome (whether it's damaged, unflattering etc).
