I love the way my hair is bouncy and all that after I rollerset but I'm now seeing split ends and some of my ends are white where it looks like they are going to split some are a little ways up the hair strand where they look as if they are going to break or explode. They weren't there before my wash and set yesterday because I dusted my ends last week and I check them frequently. WTH is going on!! I'm so frustrated I want to cry. I can't reach my goal if my ends are damaged.

Wow never heard this before, I have been roller setting for a year now.
Most of us here roller set to keep heat away from our hair. Would love to know
what others think.

How were you wearing your hair at night after the rollerset? Rollersetting jacked my ends last year something serious. Last week I was doing Bantu Knots with Jojoba oil and I had so many white bulbs I almost threw up.

For some reason when I went back to serums and pincurling this week my ends look just fine.

I'm a regular roller setter...do you DC, moisturize and seal your ends after? Maybe you could also try using some form of heat protection? And I know some ladies use end papers? HTH

Ok this is a summary of what I did yesterday
DC with Soft Sheen Carson Optimum Salon Repair mixed with Castor Oil (3hrs)
Washed with Giovanni Smooth As Silk Deeper Moisture Shampoo
Conditioned with Giovanni Deeper Moisture conditioner
Then for extra moisture I used Nuetrogena Triple Moisture
sprayed Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructorizer and Lacio Lacio as leave ins
I also used Elasta QP Thermal Silk spray
I didnt use end papers and I didnt wrap too tight this time
I dried for 1 1/2 hrs
After it was dry oiled my scalp with Coconut oil and put Biosilk on my hair and did a saran wrap under dryer for 10mins left my hair wrapped all night took it down this morning.

Did you stop rollersetting?
What kind of serums do you use?

uh oh! Im sorry this happened to you! *HUGS* From your description, the white dots on your hair sound like "Bubble Hair" ( a steam explosion inside the hair shaft) Do a search on the board there should be some info about it. I dont do rollersets (no patience lol) but Im sure some others will chime in real soon to give some helpful advice.
