Is Moroccan oil better than other oils?

It is very thick and viscous. It is good for sealing and doesn't leave hair dry or greasy. If you don't want to to have fifty-million oils in your kitchen, then it is good for that. But, if you prefer making your own oil blend, save your money.

I am a true fan of Moroccan oil . Unless they change the formula I'll continue to use it.

I'm currently transitioning. I go to get my hair flat ironed every so often for special occasions. The last couple of times my beautician has been using Moroccan oil to blow dry/flat iron my hair. I really like the way it makes my hair feel, as well as the softness and sheen. Of course, I'm sure that also has a lot to do with her technique.:look:

I've never tried it at home on my own, but I really like the results when it is used by my beautician.

You're better off just buying a bottle of Argan oil as it's more or less the same thing for a fraction of the price. I use Organic Argan, and it is divine. you only need to use a small drop too so it's very economical.

Thanks ladies.

CT, where do you buy argan oil? Is argan oil beneficial to the hair?

I read somewhere that you don't get the full moroccan experience if you don't buy the brand name.

Can anyone vouch for that statement? Anybody use it at home?

I have used Moroccan oil and liked it. But number one oil for me would be jasmine oil. It has a nice sweet smell to it and leave my hair light and not oily looking.

I LOVE MOROCCAN OIL. It's one of my staples. I actually use it in the form of a deep conditioning mask. It's been a life saver for my hair. I like to mix the mask with regular olive oil (extra virgin is too heavy for my hair) and DC. Leaves my hair SUPER moisturized.

i have it at home its ok,

the girl at the bss convinced me it would be a great replacement for my kerastase serum. it is not. it smells nice and my hair kinda likes it but its not worth the price i actually like the garnier serum more.

Definitely don't want to spend $40 on this, but my hair needs a real treat. I need to invest in a great conditioning product.

I was thinking of using porosity control and moroccan oil.

Yodie, I have not tried this product yet. However, I did find the ingredient list for you. You could order the pure Argan oil and Morrocan oil and see how you hair responds.

Ingredients in MoroccanOil:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Butylphenyl, MethylPropional, Argania Spinoza Kernal Oil (Aragan Oil), Linseed (Linum Usitatissimum) Extract, Fragrance Supplement, D&C Yellow-11, D&C Red-17, Coumarin, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone

Why are there so many cones in this oil? Is there any such thing as pure moroccan oil???

Seems like it's filled with cones. I honestly don't know whether cones are good or bad for my hair. I use chi silk and I love it. I wonder if this product will act like chi silk.

I think some women just buy the argan oil. No, I don't think there is anything that's 100% moroccan oil.

Some ladies said the oil is easily absored into the hair and doesn't leave that greasy feeling. I like that because I want to use oil on my hair without a greasy feeling and I like the smell, but $40 is alot. Right now I need to treat my hair, so I'll spend the $. I just want to make sure my jojoba, castor or coconut oils aren't better for my hair.

Thanks ladies.

Well I'm from the UK so I get mine from a British retailer. I'm sure if you google "Argan Oil" you'll get plenty of US based retailers.

Moroccan Oil has a lot of cones in it, it is not a "pure oil" where as Argan is. You'll probably get the same effect as using a nice rich conditioner and adding a few drops of Argan to it. However, I've never used Moroccan Oil so can't really give a complete and informed view.

no it's argan oil. When I saw the ingredients, I was like , I am not paying 23984y93 dollars for a little bottle of cones, mixed with a drop of argan oil. :nono: It may work, but meh, not worth it, IMO.

Thanks ladies. I'm going to make myself use the $6 bottle of jojoba oil I already have.

You may want to try argan oil
I think moroccan oil has a good formulation so I think that's why it works so well.
But this year Morocco hasn't had much rain and the argan oil comes from this tree in one region of Morocco and this year this tree has suffered and there was less argan oil available than usual and it is very expensive even in Morocco. It is cheaper than here of course, but still rare and expensive. It's supposed to good for you from head to toe.
So I have still yet to choose whether I would like to try the Moroccan oil brand since I wouldn't be sure how to use the oil by itself.....
