What are your opinions on Carol's Daughter products. I have heard so many opinions from fam and friends (most of which concern the price). What are your thoughts ladies?

When I first began my Journey, I had quite a few CD Products. However, nothing was a re-purchase or became a staple tho' because both my Education and Horizon of Products and Hair Care Expanded. Becoming more Knowledgable and Educated about My Hair led me to more Product Driven Results.:look:

And I quickly learned there is was Plethora of Products that are actually, "better" and "healthier" for My Hair at a Better Price with Far Better Results.:yep:

What I had, I passed on to a guy at the office that has "Locs" and he was quite appreciative.

I've tried the Tui smoothie- left my hair dry as dust. The hair milk...it was actually greasy and did not moisturize one but. The black vanilla leave-in left my hair tangled. I like the honey Mimosa to slick down fly-a-ways, smaller than a pea size is enough. Her products just smell good, but not worth it. Haven't tried the body care, though.

Co signing on your entire review. I feel the same exact way about all of these products because I got the same results. I will also add that the tui hair oil smells incredible--- and doesn't moisturize a thing.

Not a fan of Carol's Daughter. The Healthy Hair Butter was a staple in the beginning of my hair journey, but I have found much better products since then.

I've used several of her products in the beginning. However, I did not find them moisturizing enough of my hair.

I have used Khoret Amen, Tui, Mimosa Hair Honey, Black Vanilla shampoo & leave in, Healthy hair butter and Some of Margerite's Magic. The ONLY product I would consider purchasing again is Some of Margerite's Magic. Its a nice moisturizer but the rest of the products I tried are garbage.

Complete garbage.

You can get so much more value in price and ingredients from Qhemet, Hairveda, Oyin, Shescentit, Curls......

For the longest time I wouldnt purchase any of her products. I feel like if her products make your hair so healthy, then why are your two spokesmodels wearing weaves in her advertisements?? It was questionable. Jada and Mary J always wear weaves...so anyway, for years I wasn't interested. I was in NO for The Essence Fest and I met the owner and my family swears by it (but they all wear relaxers and don't understand that what works on them, probably wont work on me)..So I gave in and purchased the hair milk. I haven't tried it yet. Also, my aunt let me try some of her Tui Oil, while it smells awesome, it didn't really work well on my hair. I did go to a salon and they used her Black Vanilla leave in on me, and it smelled great also, but not sure if it did anything. If anything, it made my hair smell good lol.

I have tried them a few years ago...they smell great, but did nothing for my hair. They actually made my hair dry and greasy. I have not repurchased.

A lot of her products smell good, but don't actually do anything to your hair. But they're also not worth the money because now she uses many of the same cheap synthetic ingredients that are used in other products. There's no reason to pay 30$ for petroleum and preservatives when you could just buy some 5$ ORS or Garnier.

I've used them, I loved the smell of the Tui hair oil and the leave-in spray, and used them as hair perfume. The tui shampoo dried my hair out completely. The I bought Mimosa hair honey, the hair milk, and the marguerite's magic but they didn't really do much and the ingredients aren't worth the price.

I used them when I first went natural. I didn't like anything except the pumpkin smelling orange grease. They did nothing for my hair.

My best friend and I both tried CD when we were in college. Neither of us had much luck with the products and we have different hair textures/ types (I'm 3c she's 4b). My hair absolutely hates soy oil so that elixir was like pouring bacon grease on my head :nono:. Most of the products made my hair frizzy and just plain ugly (due to the soy oil). If anything CD taught me what NOT to use on my hair.

Never used any of the hair products, too expensive for such small bottles. Plus Ive heard nothing good except they smell nice so I dont think I will purchase any.

My hair is relaxed. I purchased the Healthy Hair Butter for my ends and returned it after a week. It made my hair greasy and it smelled terrible. I prefer Elasta QP Mango Butter.

I love the Ecstasy scent. I purchased it, and also had to return it because the smell only lasted like two seconds after spraying it on. The Shea Souflee was alright, but way over-priced.

Well From My Understanding both TJ Maxx and Marshall's Now Carry them for less than half the price.:look:

I haven't seen them in there, Nor Have I looked.:look:

So if anyone is interested......I would start there.

No, I'll pass. I hate to say it but a lot of "black hair products" hurt, not help, my hair. I don't wish to waste my time, energy, or money on them anymore.

I quess I am the exception. Price doesn't bother me and it works on my hair and DD too. Plus I like that I can buy online AND in stores. YMMV

I TRIED THE EXILIR OIL cant think of the whole name it was lke 20.00 at sephora and i tried the m something hair butter... sorry ladies i cant get the name right.

I only tried the oil because I saw that the was the item that was selling the most in the store so I got a bottle. I liked the smell and gave my hair a nice shine...But, I have not purchased it since then not the hair butter or pomade whatever it was.

I only like Healthy Hair Butter and the Tui Hair Oil.

MJ's Curly Buttercreme is my HG moisturizer. Overpriced as hell, but can't find nothing better at this time.

I tried the hair milk and the pumpkin grease stuff about 3 years ago. It's just okay. The orange grease (in a metal tin) lasted me a long time though and I got compliments on the smell. The hair milk did not do much to define curls or anything so I just used it as a styling/moisturizing creme to braid my hair for my wigs.
I also tried some sample shampoo of hers before she had the celebrities and I didn't like that it was so watery. The best thing in the pack was the free sample of lip balm.
I really wanted to like the products because of the marketing and the packaging but it just didn't happen for me. I feel better seeing others were also not impressed.
