Same thing happened to my roomate except she had a natural puff. Boy, was she screaming. She combed the bug off on my bar soap, though!

Don't feel bad. I completely understand. In high school, me and my then boyfriend had a romantic night in his backyard. Bbq at dusk, swimming in his family pool at night and having drinks and desert by the bug zapper. I had a cute curly updo. I went home, showered and washed my hair to get the chlorine out. I stood up and looked in the sink and there was a HUGE dead beetle that fell from my hair. It must have been zapped and fell in my hair.

If I wasn't so vain back then I would have pulled every strand out in disgust. I'm shuddering just thinking about it.

I AM DONE with extension hair, you hear me! done!:cry::cry:This afternoon, what I thought was a kamikaze bee, flew into my forehead and zoomed off to the left of me. At first I thought I was stung, but I didn't feel a bump, so I figured the bee was just getting buffeted by the wind or something. Hours later, I come home, and I'm redoing some of my kinky twists in the back and what I thought at first was a large tangle, was a HUGE FREAKING BEETLE THING WITH WINGS THAT WAS HUGE:cry::cry2::cry2: I don't know if it was dormant or whatever, but it started struggling in the kinky twists and i'm screaming and hollering and finally i throw it on the floor and throw every book in the house at it while its buzzing on the floor trying to fly away:gunner7:I can't believe it was there that long and nobody noticed? nobody said HAY YOU HAVE A GIANT. FREAKING BUG IN YOUR HAIR YOU MIGHT WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I have to take these braids out now and never look at them again for months

(in case you can't tell i'm terrified of large insects :perplexed)

and to add insult to injury while I'm complaining to a friend about it she goes:
ME: I have to take them out now, they're freaking me out everytime one of them brushes my neck now
HER: NO NO NO DON'T YOU DARE
a bit more vehemently than I was expecting. :lachen:I'm not sure whether to take that as a "hay great I did a good job on these kinky twists" or "damn do I usually look that busted with my normal hair?":ohwell:

My dear hair sister,
This happened to me two weeks ago. A bumble bee landed on my head....

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....stop.

DH did not even see it.... I walked to the car, I looked at my reflection and Saw Mr. Bee :hiya:

:eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2:

I lost it..... I ran in the parking lot..... :couchfire:and I could have been hit by a car..... Finally Mr. BB flew away..... and my heart barely started!!!

My DH?????? :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

He was no help.... he was doubled over in laughter.

I was crying my eyes out. I hate big bugs too.....

So....... I am with you sis.........:runninghug::bighug::bighug:

Girl, something similar happened to me last year. I was at the Sonic drive in and my sister said "there's a cricket in your hair". I had on a wig so I pulled it off and started shaking it, in plain sight of everyone. That was both humiliating and traumatizing so I feel your pain, lol. ;)

Not funny then - but - hilarious now!!!!:lachen::lachen:

Good for you for getting the beetle bug out of your hair! If that had been me, I would have been screaming my head off, and running around in circles trying to "de-bug" myself! What an awful experience-hope it never happens to you again! I did enjoy your story though.:goodone: Glad you survived!

This was me. Embarrassing.....:lachen:

I shouldn't laugh but that's a funny story. I'm glad you didn't get hit when you ran into the parking lot.I can imagine...:gorgeous::hero::burning::couchfire: :auto: :help2:

LOL.

Don't mean to laugh, but it's just the way you told the story. I would've done the same thing and more. I probably would've went into cardiac even after the bug was out of my hair. I'm getting the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it.

Ive found all sorts of insects and animals in my hair.
I was out shopping one time and clould not understand why my scalp was iching uncontrollably. turns out an insect was :yay: on my scalp, must have been there for at least two hours!

I was disgusted.:barf:

Don't feel bad. You're not the only one this has happened to from the board. One lady I think found a roach or something in her hair and didn't even know. SHE HAD THAT MUCH HAIR ON HER HEAD!

I'm sorry this happened to you, I would have freaked out as well. But, I think you'll laugh at this once you get over the initial shock.

OMG....I was reading this in horror. I am terrified of ALL insects. I definitely feel your pain. I would have been ripping my hair out of my head. There is no way I would have been able to touch it. Honestly, it's creeping me out right now. I'm so sorry that this happened to you.

:shocked: OMG, This thread is so funny:lol: But I would be freaked out if some beetle had been chillin' in my hair :tantrum: and no body bothered to tell me:swearing: Just the though of it makes me sick.:sick2: I'd be crossing my fingers:crossfingers: hoping that it had no friends with it...But would be afraid to touch my hair:help2: I'd be constantly in the mirror looking before I could even touch it!!:eye: Anyway, sorry it happened to you.:flowers::goodpost:

Here is a crazy but true story. There was a woman who left her extensions (braids) in too long. Some how a bug of some sort nested in her hair and produced hundreds of babies. The babies some how ate into her scalp remained under her scalp for a long time. She shaved her head but had to have the bugs picked out of her scalp. If I find the story I will post. This happened years ago.

I am glad that you are okay. It doesnt sound like the bug had been there for long. But this is always a concern during the summer months.
