Sistahs in the knot struggle how have you been coping? Currently i'm 21 weeks post and it's getting brutal.

by wearing my hair straight...i was getting extremely frustrated. before that i was doing flat twistouts, which lessened the number of knots but didn't eliminate them. next step is 2 months min in braids.

You know what's weird...single strand knots don't bother me. I keep my hair stretched to keep them to a minimum but it's not like they'll go away completely so I just ignore them for the most part.

Same here. Actual tangles don't actually hit me that often. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go knock on wood.

Yes I am and i'm starting to crazy My hair wants to start dreading after like 1 day of being loose

Yeah, I can't really help you there. The only time I get those is if I wear a shrunken fro for days on end and then there's hell to pay.

Maybe you should just braid it up for awhile...or keep your hair straight for a minute. You are coming up on that 6 month mark where it seems to get really difficult for transitioners.

You are absolutely right. I won't lie and say that i haven't thought about getting my relaxer out but realistically I know that isn't want I want. I can see that i'll need to detangle on a much more regular basis now.

I am 5 months post too so I definitely feel your pain! I cowash ALL THE TIME! Seriously. Put away the shampoo and get to cowashing atleast twice a week. Braid your hair before you wet it in atleast 6 sections all over your head. Apply the condish then. Wait and let it absorb in the hair. When in the shower, get a WIDE tooth shower comb and detangle with the condish in your hair. Moisturize your hair til it can't take it anymore. I bought some Roux Porosity Control and it worked wonders on my hair. That product closes open cuticles. Yours might be open due to years of relaxing and not treating afterward. Also, try a detangler if it's still unruly. I usually rollerset. But this is what I have been doing for the last two months and my hair has not been TOTALLY crazy. I win all of our battles. HTH!!

try chi silk infusion on damp or nearly dry hair. the stuff's expensive, but I use it once a week when I sit down for a good detangling.

Yes I have this problem. I just went on a search and destroy this morning and cut all single knots out.
Im adding SAA to my leave in spray - gona see if that helps.
