Hi Everyone,
Just a few progress pics of my 4b natural hair. The first photos in each set were taken in March of 2009, the second photos in each set were taken June 20, 2009:

Great progress!:afro: It definetely looks thicker. Seeing pics like this makes me so excited about my transition! I can't wait until I'm able to rock my afro puffs.:yep:

Its like I'm looking at the back of my head!!!!! Wow! Your puffs are spectacular!

Quick question, do you have wavey almost bone straight hairs mixed in with your curly ones?

Nope, no straight/almost straight hair mixed in.

I'm loving the puffs & love your texture too. What did you use as a moisturizer?

Hi and thanks for the comment! :)

Only moisturizer I used was water...then let it air dry.

I have yet to find a product moisturizer that i love...the shine is from the flash :) LOL.

Darn! Well I'm still glad that I've seen someone's hair that looks like mine. I have wavey almost straight hairs mixed in my hair :perplexed...

ETA: Oh I use carrot oil cholesteral creme on my hair.. it seems to like it. I have a hard time finding products that my hair likes.

OMG. Those are some fantabulous puffs. And they're so soft and moisturized looking. I could just eat them up!

Great progress Jenn! What's your regimen?

Thanks MSA!

My regimen has been...braids...braids...braids...and more braids (extensions).
I keep my hair braided a majority of the time. I'm reluctant to call it a crown and glory because I do not follow any of the advice/guidelines on the site. When i first started to braid my hair up, i used African Royale braid spray maybe 3 times a week, and washed every 2 weeks.

Now, i don't use braid sprays or infusium...i just spritz my hair with water every few days. When i get dandruff, i spray my scalp (and sometimes mist my entire head ) with ORS nature shine (natural oils). Thats it..i dont even shampoo my hair at 2 week intervals anymore (i know, i know :ohwell:).

Like the good renegade that i am, i also braid my hair back to back to back...like within 2 to 3 days of braid sets. Luckily, my hair has been flourishing. I get larger sized individual braids, i tell the braiders not to put so much hair on my head or braid tightly, and i DO NOT let them braid my edges. I section off my edges and tell them not too touch my sectioned off areas. Sometimes ill loosely braid the edges myself, but 95% of the time they are out and free (I wear my braids over my hairline, kind of like a swoop with the braids, so you cant see my edges anyway).

Whenever i take my braids out I:
prepoo (this time used lekair cholesterol),
wash (creme of nature..though i REALLY want to get away from poos bc it did strip my hair)
deep condition (used Dudley's hair mask/mud treatment)
apply a liquid leave in strengthener (usually Fermodyl)

I then air dry in about 6 or 7 braids and throw a scarf on. I sometimes use grease/oil to attempt to seal the moisture into my hair, but that never works, lol. The pics in this thread are pre-wash and without product.

Your hair is adorable. I'd love to see if out in a full afro puff!

Optimistic. Our hair is similar. I have 4B hair with a 4A popping up here and there, and a path of nearly bone straight in the back, which I hope will wave up as it grows out, because I want a huge afro puff.
