I'm still confused about what a silk wrap is. Is that when you rollerset and then wrap or flat iron and wrap or am I way off base?

You shoulda seen my husband laughing at me when I wrapped my hair in saran wrap. I was under there sweatin like a hebrew slave!!!:lachen:

Unfortunately, I couldn't really tell a difference, and I don't know WHAT I did wrong, because I copied macherie down to the teeeeee.

I haven't had success with it, needless to say...

I've tried it per Macherie's rollerwrapping DVD. I used to do it for a while. My hair felt slightly softer and was shinier per the method but I stopped because I don't like using Oil Sheen (at least Kera Care's). I would say at least try it to see if you like it.

Its suppose to make your hair seem more silkier hence the name. Personally, I couldnt tell the difference between a regular wrap and a silk wrap besides the "shake" was a little different. :ohwell:

Me too...i even went out and bought the same saran wrap. :giggle:. My hair was a HAM

I love the silk wrap technique - I have a few pics somewhere on my blog.

I am fully natural and I am able to achieve more than decent results.

I tried the saran wrap after a rollerset. My hair looked like a haystack.

I love to silk wrap after I roller set. I'll lightly moisturize my ends, wrap and cover with saran. I try to only sit under the dryer for about 10 minutes with warm heat, so that I don't sweat under there. Make sure to let it cool before unwrapping, or just cover with your satin scarf. :yep:

Oh, and I never use oil sheen.

Maybe it doesnt work everyone. I LOVE it. I do it everytime I straighten and I'm natural, at times I think I need to. I don't use the oil sheen though.

At times I think the product you use may make a difference. After flat ironing, I wrap my hair with ONE or TWO rounds of saran wrap, I try not to do three or more. I sit under the dryer for 20 minutes and I unwrap. It actually makes a huge difference for me. I rewrap with my silk scarf over night and it's bouncy. Just be patient and keep trying, because this technique is too good for me not to suggest it. Almost all my friends do it now, even those that are relaxed. I think another key thing is to make sure your hair's not greasy.

the silk wrap was a bust for me. it's supposed to make your hair all straight and smooth. it had the opposite effect. my roots were straighter after the rollerset then they were after the wrap. the saran wrap made me sweat too much, i guess.

I love the saran wrap. I do it after a roller set when I want a flat iron look. It makes my hair smooth and silky. I don't use oil sheen, just a light oil. Like the others have mention, try on a warm setting for about 10 mins. if it makes you sweat too much.

I have tried it a couple of times and I just noticed my hair is softer and a little more silky feeling.
