I paid $200 for you to do this in a month!!!

They just have to last past swim class or is this a losing battle?

ETA: I spelled "Senegalese" wrong. I had twist sliding off the front so I twist it up and notice so much growth. I was mad, because when I originally got then on April 14 my scalp was pulled so tight.

What the? Dang!

Why didn't I get those results when I was using it?
I'm with the other poster. Is that every day use?

Wait do u use it everyday

No, about every two or three days, depends when i remember and wash my hair every other week. If I am dry, I use this spritz I made consisting of grapefruit oil, water, and a little Hair One Condish.

I pat my head at work. It's loose but my scalp hurts and it itches like crazy. When my boss comes around I rub my belly and pretend I am doing a coordination test:lachen:

One of my coworker said they have to go. I said for $200, I am rocking them until there is one twist left.:lachen:

thats that bull right there do you use it str8 or mixed because i dont know what in the blazes im doing wrong i also use it 3-4 days
you dam right wear the heck out of that 200

Mines is mixed in a spray bottle (since I am in twist) with water and a few drops of Wild Hair Oil.

Wow, that is great growth for 2 months.
Do you have a detanling plan for when you take them out?
I urge you to take your time, make a plan, perhaps seek the assistance of a friend or relative.

DETANGLE - DETANGLE - DETANGLE!

Detangle each one as you take it out.
Use conditioner & or coconut milk.
Do not rake it.
Do not rush.
Do not wait to detangle all at once after you've taken all of them out.
Do make sure you also detangle the roots & remove the shed hair.
Do dedicate a whole day to the take down.
Do not rush!
Do not make plans for that day or the next day.

I understand wanting to keep these as long as you can to get your money's worth but please don't jeopardize your hair for the sake of your frugal nature.

I hope I don't sound preachy, I'm not trying to, I just don't want to see you have a setback. After seeing that mess that happened to Atteya I'm all about aiding with prevention. And pushing preparation.

HHG.

^ Great advice especially considering the increase in shedding that goes along with MT.
OP, girl you have grown out of those braids. How long until swim class is over?

Yay Megatek!

I know not to use it if I'm ever trying to maintain a style b/c it's useless. Glad that it's working for you. :yep:

Wow, at least you know Mega Tek is working for you.

Thanks, some of them are already falling out so with those pieces I detangle with my fingers, wiggling small portions out of the knots and matts and retwist them occasionally. You don't sound preachy at all, just concerned, and their is nothing wrong with that. You answered my question. I'm already exploring other options. Maybe cornrows ever two weeks... although I am ecstatic about the growth, I'm mad it had to happen during a $200 job.

*Singing like Michael Jackson* "Youuu are not aloooone!!!" :pulpdance:

I got braids on April 18th...I apply a mix of megatek, olive oil and coconut oil to my scalp 3 days a week and wash my hair with a spray bottle of dandruff shampoo every other saturday.

I also seal my ends with a bit of coconut and olive oil at night.

Very simple and effective regimen because my hair and scalp always feels moisturized and my braids are relatively clean.

So how bout after 7 weeks my hair looks crazy! :nono:

In fact they started looking wild around the 4-5 wk mark

Luckily I had a coworker do them for me for $125 but still - who has ever heard of looking wild in box braids after only a month?

I am going to keep these in for another week or 2 and then let them my hair breath for a week before doing a new set of braids on the 27th...

But I gotta tell you I've already started taking out some of the braids on my nape and around my hairline because they are hanging loose from my hair as if I'd had them in for months.

My new growth feels softer and more manageable and for this I am grateful. I just now know for a fact that Megatek + braids = frequent re-applications.

Next go round I'm gonna have to take them out after only 6 weeks cause my social calendar will be too packed this summer for me to walk around looking like this.

Your NG looks so much like mine I actually feel better

Don't knock your growth girl.

You need to get edges redone at the very least. I'm very serious. You might have dreads at the end of two months.

Wow, nice growth. I'm with the other ladies by stating that you need to take of that NG and be careful when detangling!

You should probably take them out so as not to tangle your hair. Sorry about your $200, but it won't be worth it if your hair mats.

Use lots of conditioner.
