HI Ladies

I need your helps/opinions/suggestions…

What do you think of an MT recipe where you mix MT with a portion of conditioner instead of oils and then apply this directly to your scalp?
The purpose of the conditioner would be to add moisture to the hair without having the oily effect that a recipe with oils sometime produces.

PS - I am considering doing this because my current mix has oils and with my sew-in even though I try to apply only to the parts of the tracks and not to the hair, some inadvertently gets to the hair and then it's a bit oily by wash day – which I hate as it really spoils the look of the sew-in.:nono:

I wouldn't b/c conditioners are not meant to stay on the scalp. MT is thick enough to stay in place just straight. I never mixed mine. I just ran a thin line on my scalp with an applicator bottle and massaged it in and didn't have any issues. But if that or the oil mix doesn't work, I definitely wouldn't leave condish on my scalp. You'll have some serious itchies and buildup under your tracks.

Thanks for your opinion and you do make a good point. I was just thinking that since I wash every week I would get rid of any conditioner on my scalp but I do see your point.

Any more opinions?

Actually I have just remembered something - I know several ladies use conditioner as a leave-in. Not a huge amount just a dime sized dollop and it seems to work for them.
....

Any ladies with more thoughts on this MT+conditioner mix???

angenoir,

I wouldn't use the conditioner on the scalp, either. I co-wash daily with V05, and then I squeeze a dime-sized amount in my palm and run that through my hair again. Then I part, and "grease" my scalp with the MT. This method is working out really well for me - no issues.

BTW, I have passed through Basel many, many times on my way to Italy from Germany, and it is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. But yall think yall are slick - every time we made a purchase in euros, we got francs back in change. Hmmmmmm. It's all good though, because I "heart" Switzerland!

Thanks for the tip Southern Belle. I am really scared of protein overlaod and equally wary of getting too greasy. I will give your method a try.

About Basel - I moved here in March from Paris and I absolutely love it! Its a small beautiful city with lots going on and at the same time very peaceful. And everythign works like a dream :-)

And ummm... we're not slicK just business-minded:grin:... standard procedure... we give you back change in local curency :-) and make some money on the exchange difference :-)

I have never gotten protein overload. I think daily co-washing with a moisturizing cheapie conditioner and then applying MT is the perfect marriage. They kind of keep each other in check. I use the V05 "moisture milks" line. But again, I co-wash every day, I don't know how feasable that will be for you, because it gets C-O-L-D in Switzerland! But you could at least try it during the summer to see if it works for you.

I'm intrigued about this moving from Paris to Basel. If you don't mind my asking, why the change? That's a huge change in pace and culture. Paris is always bustling. Basel is much more laid back. So did you find a job? I'll have to PM you to discuss that more. We're thinking about going back to Belgium, or Germany, but Switzerland would work too if there are jobs to be had.

I dont mind the daily co-washing its just that I am currently in a sew-in and that might not work for me :-(
I am washing weekly though, so we'll see how that goes - so far so good.

And to answer your question - its really simple. I moved because my company moved me:yep:. I was working for the same company in Paris and then I was moved to work here...
