Do you ever buy "non-ethnic" wigs?

a.k.a. wigs marketed towards white people? Like Raquel Welch, Noriko, Jon Renau, etc. I've seen a couple of styles I like, but I'm worried about the texture of the hair. And I'm not too impressed with the much higher price range. Some of these wigs cost as much as a lace front and I don't know why. :ohwell:

I've seen some cute styles in non-ethnic wigs however I think the usually look more wiggy than the wigs geared toward black women. If you think about getting one, try to go to a store in your location that sells them. I went to a store that only sold european wigs and was not impressed with the quality of these wigs and to think even though they are synthetic they sold for as much as 10 times the cost of a regular bss wig.

I do not give it a second thought. I buy the wig which looks good on me..that's all..could not care less who has their name on the label.

does it really matter? I mean I doubt there's a sign saying not targeted towards african american women...sorry if it sound a bit harsh but does everything need to be race related can't things just be. Most "Ethnic" products are not even made by black people. If you like it buy it!

I think the op wants to know if the non-ethnic wigs are a better quality since most of them are more expensive. I, personally, am not sure. I have always been frugal, so I have never tried them. Before I started selling wigs myself, I would find something that I liked within my "budget" which meant purchasing the "ethnic" lines.
I have noticed that the non-ethnic wigs have different colors and a wider range of colors. There is still nothing I have found to warrant the large variance in prices.

Nah, the marketing part doesn't bother me. I guess it's more about the texture of the hair (silky versus yaki) and wondering why the price is so high, especially for synthetic. It's one thing if the wigs last for centuries, but I doubt it.
