You ladies in Chicago know what I'm talking about...

I've been depressed because I had a setback and my hair is so much shorter now. I've been at this hair growing thing for a little over a year and I'm making progress but I have to admit....looking at the gorgeous heads on here makes me a little discouraged.

I recently relaxed after a 13 week stretch and wound up horribly underprocessed. So I decided to blow it out and see how long its gotten without having to do a corrective anytime
soon.

I liked the results. I did a protein treatment last night to make sure my hair strands could withstand the heat.

I just wish it was longer and that's the part that's depressing me. I'm just gonna hide it until September 10th (My bday) and see if I can at least get back to SL.

They did a good job on your hair. I visited Mena's once last year and really liked it there--wish I would've taken pics of my hair :wallbash:. But I'm sorry to hear you had setback. Stay encouraged--the progress you desire is on it's way! :yep:

Nice results!

I laughed when I read your blog, “If you are sensitive to heat, this procedure isn't for you. I am not so I could handle most of it.” I had an Egyptian Blowout and my scalp was in pain. I wanted to get up and leave! However, the results lasted for 2 weeks. I had it done during the winter. Both snow and rain touched my hair and there was barely any reversion. I think that I was 6 months post at the time.

I was impressed. I haven’t gone back though :perplexed

Do you think that you will try it again?

Thanks everyone. I was thinking about doing a corrective on my jacked self relaxer, but now I will hold off. The results were nice enough though.

It came out nice SS. Hold off on the corrective though- I might be getting you mixed up with some one else, can you do your own weaves? If so I would just hide my hair for a while.

Girl I wish I could do my own weaves. I'm thinking about getting a partial weave for now but the full weaves are the only thing that protect all of my hair.

I don't know what to do with it. My stylist was saying that could do tree braids in the front and get a sew in in the back. I may go with that option.

Thanks. :spinning:

it doesnt seem like there is anything wrong with your hair. it looks nice to me. no corrective is needed at this moment

That's because they got it super straight. When it wears off or starts to revert...then...well...it will be super kinky and unmanageable.

I was able to band my hair so that it would stay straight just so I can make a decent bun. The crown is the worst.

One of my friends does this - and it looks so good on her:yep:. I think this would be good for you.

I just got an Egyptian Blowout at Mena's I really like it. My hair is fluffy, light and bouncy. If I get a chance I'll take pics.

The heat didn't really get to me until the very end.
