Hi Everyone

I'm pretty new here (very new) so please excuse me if this is a thread that's been done to death, or if I was supposed to post this somewhere else.

I did the BC 2 days ago, and I have to say I'm loving it! I don't even know if I would bother to grow it, were it not for my husband wanting me to.

So, I post this to encourage other newbies to post their BCs and also to ask if there's anything I'm missing from my "must do this to grow hair" list below. I'm 4ab&c and I suppose my goal is APL if I like it, than I'll see about growing it longer.

Thanks and Best to all!

Welcome! Your hair is beautiful and it fits you so well.

There's nothing you "must" do to grow your hair. It's going to grow anyway, but of course a good diet, exercise, and rest will help with that. Retaining your length doesn't have to be complicated either, just make sure you keep your hair conditioned/moisturized and protected and you'll be fine.

Thank you both :)

aprils13 from what I've been reading you can take them in supplement form, and/or and Cayenne to your food and drinks. I like drinking Lemonade with Cayenne, but I never had a clue it would help with hair growth :)

Thank You! :)

Oh I'm getting warm and fuzzies being here! I was thrilled when I found this forum the other day. All of this support, and information in one place. Awesome!

You look fabulous! Remember not to over complicate your regimen. I'm also going to second Msa's post, especially the last sentence.

Awww thanks! For the compliments and welcome :)

sandee1on1 my last relaxer was about 5 weeks ago or so. I just got fed up the other day and said "no more of this, the hair has got to go" I cut of a bit of the new growth too, especially in the back. I'm really starting from scratch. :)

congratulations!

i just want to echo some other sentiments...there is nothing you MUST do but focus on retention. it will grow regardless. have you determined your normal growth rate?

Congrats on the BC and welcome! You look great with a short hairstyle! As for growing, keep your moisture / protien balance in check and you should be fine.

The cut looks fantastic. I wish I had your guts to do the bc. I'm going to transition for another 4 months.

Hi lilsparkle825 - Last month it grew an inch, and I notice that it usually does this because there was always more than an inch each time I would get a "touch up". So if I can retain it, that would be super!

Oh I have to find out more about protein balance, thank you for mentioning lovenharmony
