What's a good one? One that will leave your hair shiny and doesn't wash out way too quickly.
TIA :yep:

I use Clairol as well, and get good results. The longest lasting rinse I have ever used is the KISS brand in Jet Black. You can try that one.

I have yet to find one that i love after 8 years of faithfully rinsing my hair black. I have tried:
Evertone in Blue black- first rinse, loved the color. Bleed easily and is now discontinued.

Jazzing in bluest black- fine for a while, but eventually left a green cast

Beautiful collection in jet black - rinses away too soon and made my hair more brown than anything in the roots( weird)

Ion brillance- after application loved the color although my hair felt like straw. Color faded quickly after first wash and I sat under the dryer for 25 minutes

So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm looking for a really deep black that produces mega shine and softness. I yes I deep condition with heat regularly..

I have the same problem. Nothing lasts. I've tried all the ones you mention. They look great after first applying, but the next wash-dull and color fades.

I love black hair so I've used Bigen lately. I'm looking for an alternative because it leaves my hair dry and the PPD threads are scaring me although I do the patch test every time.

I just used the ion brand last night. I actually really really like the stuff. I am sorry it doesn't work for you.

If you all are really concerned with the color washing away, why don't you try demi permanent color.

Hmmm, good idea. Any suggestions?

I am eyeing real close a product called Naturtint it is a permanent hair collorant with no ammonia, no resourcinol and no parabens. It covers grey 100% supposedly will give an intense and radiant color.

Still not sure those on the box it says 100% grey cover for up to 5 weeks. So which is it it covers the grey temporarily but the rest of the hair the color stays on.

Still checking out information

If you can find Via, that's a good one that really conditions as it colors and lathers up well so the color is distributed evenly. It never bled on me like others I remember.

Also, Elasta QP seemed to really make my hair shine. But I did see a little bleeding afterwards. Maybe I didn't rinse as well though.

I used to use the Clairol Beautiful Collection and I liked it. I have since switched to their new Clairol Advanced Gray Solution, since I have a lot of gray (I started graying at age 12).

I followed the instructions on their website which say to leave the product on for no less than 45 minutes without heat. The website says the gray coverage requires 45 minutes for the color to take. The directions on the bottle say 25 minutes (color faded fast on my gray when I did this), but I have not experienced any issues with following the recommendations on the Clairol website.

I am 3 weeks post relaxer and I deep condition with heat every week (min 30 min.). No noticeable fading of color yet. The only gray is my new growth at the roots.

I actually use the ion color on my sister. I mix the ion black color in the tube with 10 volume ion developer and process for about 20 minutes.

You can also check out clariol color, I think it the color radiance collection at Sallys.

The ION developer is my favorite developer though. Its packed with conditioners like castor oil and it won't irritate the scalp.

i can only use Jazzin and this cheap color that stains the hair well the brand is called KISS everything else im nolw allergic to thanks to bigen

Not sure, but the difference may be that the gray roots will start to show after 5 weeks. Even though all your roots might show after 5 weeks, the color difference might not be as significant???? JMO

I tried adore and the clairol one and both didnt last me a week. Even my hairdresser at the time noticed how fast it washed out.

I use sebastians cellophane in deep brunette. It cost $30 but it's worth it. The color is lasting a while. If a color last me a month I'm impressed. I'm actually starting to think it's not going to wash out or something:look:
