Okay..I'm a fan of ateya, only because her hair is soo fly. One thing I've heard her say before was that the healthier your hair is, the less it holds curl. Do yall find that to be true?

No.
One of the classic signs of damaged hair is hair that won't hold a curl. If your hair won't hold a curl, your elasticity is shot to hell. Your hydrogen and salt bonds at that point are extremely compromised from having damaged hair. The cuticle probably has lots of chips in it and in some cases, the cortex is probably exposed. In order to realign these bonds you need acidifying treatments and protein. This is why consistent acidifying product usage is important for all hair types since these bonds collectively hold 2/3rds of your strength and elasticity. This is even more important for the fine hair heads.
If you chronically over moisturize your hair, you can also notice a decrease curl holding abilities.
Ateyaa has folks doing some really dumb ish to their heads.I don't see what the big deal is, what yall call "swang" I call lifeless and flat. *shrugs* to each their own. But she's wrong...again.

Half this board has flyer hair than A...me included...all 6 inches of it.I really don't see what the big deal is with her hair either....especially OVER here. I could name at least 20 people on this board with hair WAY more fly than hers![]()
I thought the opposite was true. Most times hair is damaged and so you can't get it to do much over anything. You end up using more heat and then causing more damage
Healthy hair curls fine...check some Foktis on this board
I'm speaking for myself...the only time my hair didn't hold curl was when it was over processed, or seriously damaged. Once I cut it, I didn't have the problem again. I don't have to use any product get my hair to hold curl, it usually just stays put.....now ya'll got me worried. My hair dosent hold a curl for a long time unless it's been wet set. Are you all using any products to get the curl to hold?
